I visited here on Saturday 19th of February and was absolutely amazed. My husband and I were in Cambridge for a trip away and were told to try the sea tree. The food was amazing! I had the seafood risotto which was to die for. My husband had cod and chips which was also spot on. The portion sizes were more than enough which was lovely to see that you get your money’s worth! On the evening 3 Aug I ordered a meal for my family from the Sea Tree to the value of £32. We have enjoyed take away meals from this restaurant numerous times and have always received good quality food. Unfortunately our order arrived and it was overcooked with the batter very brown and dripping in oil. The mushy peas were soup like liquid. I phoned the restaurant straight away and spoke with the manger who also happened to be the cook and asked them to come and collect the meal and refund me. He was very polite and apologised. I work in Cambridge therefore i am not very familiar with best places to eat. I was warned to not get food from here by others but since i had a good experience before lockdown and it is convenient location i settled for this place. I ordered online and in additional comments i asked that they add salt vinegar on chips and requested for alot of vinegar too as i love the stuff. When i received the food the chips were old and crusty and they had just thrown lots and lots of salt on there i could not smell any vinegar and i certainly could not taste it with the amount of salt that was on both fish chips it was so unbearable that i had to throw it away!!! The fresh fish looks great (but pricey) and I would buy it from them to cook at home but I won’t eat here again. We popped in for a quick lunch on a Friday and both items we chose were bland, swimming in a butter sauce with absolutely no flavour at all. We had to ask for sweet chilli sauce and extra lemon to make it bearable.
The place is amazing! Seafood is so fresh and cooked so well! The place situated in the middle of the Mill road, so must to visit and see the sea peace of hart of the Mill road! Risotto, mussels, calamari the best!
It's a really nice little place for seafood fish quite a nice touch to watch them cooking in front of you it's very back to basics and that gives it quite a nice feel and makes it quite special
Small menu but no fillers here. Wonderful fresh fish meals from fish stew to tuna burgers. Or if you want plain old fish, chips and mushy peas. Lovely personal service.
