My wife and I were on a road trip in Santa Fe and had a recommendation for The Shed from a friend who grew up in New Mexico. After looking the area over we were afraid the place just had to be a tourist trap and, of course, no wannabe foodie is going to be satisfied with that. But we were stuck there and decided to give it a try for lunch anyway. Boy, were we wrong. This place is no tourist trap! The staff is experienced and proficient, the prices are moderate, considering the area, and the food is terrific. In addition, there is a historical note that adds some interest. e.g. parts of the building date to the 1600 's. You can read their history on-line. We started with their Traditional Chi...

The Shed is a very popular spot a block up from the Plaza. To make reservations for the night, you need to show up at 4 o'clock on the day you wish to have dinner and stand in line to make a reservation for that evening. A line begins forming before 4 to make reservations, but if you show up later you will still probably get a reservation for that evening, it just may not be at the exact time you wanted. The service was very good the first time we ate at the Shed. We had been seated in an area with a very large group that was so noisy we could not hear each other talk. We asked if it was possible to be moved to another table and they were able to accomodate us. The food was very flavorful. W...

Great place for dinner in Santa Fe! We stopped in for a quick dinner and a stamp on the Santa Fe Margarita Trail! People were waiting for tables but we walked right in and sat at the bar definitely recommend if you want to avoid a long wait and are comfortable eating at the bar next to strangers. Great chips and salsa and the chicken enchilada plate was huge and delicious. I went for Christmas and it was fantastic really big though so bring your appetite! Service was fast and the bartender was super friendly.

One of the better tasting restaurants from my trip to Santa Fe. This is also a really popular recommendation so it does get quite busy. We had to wait 90 minutes for dinner without reservations on a Tuesday night. I ordered the enchiladas that were MUCH spicier than I was expecting (my spice tolerance is very low) but it was still tasty! I also recommend saving room for the apple pie. It's made in house and for $1 can get it a la mode. The service was fantastic! Réservez une table maintenant

The portion was huge !! easily shareable for two people. Very cute inside lots of tables but the place was absolutely slammed. I came on a Friday night and there was an over two hour wait....; luckily I was able to grab a seat at the bar after about an hour, I would definitely recommend going during the week versus the weekend, the service was quick, but the bartenders weren't super friendly. I think they were overwhelmed with the amount of people.

Great place to eat while in Santa Fe. Located near the plaza, The Shed offers some of the best New Mexican food in the area. Although their prices are bit high and it's kind of touristy the food is good. I always have the enchiladas with both red and green sauce. They have great outdoor seating and fun indoor seating within a very old building with all the charm expected from an old Santa Fe building. I highly recommend.

For anyone who visits Santa Fe, The Shed is THE classic place to go for Northern New Mexico cooking! Eternally great, this legendary restaurant is always jammed with hungry patrons, and with good reason. Year after year, the food and service remains excellent. Generations of tourists and locals continue to make a pilgrimage here. We've been coming to the Shed since the 1980s and, certainly plan to do so again.

After road-tripping for several days and living on a diet including lots of fast food, I was dying for some vegetables. I got the Mixed Green Salad with house vinaigrette and added some salmon. It was perfect and just what I was wanting! Nice mix of veggies and the salmon was delicious without any weird fishy taste. Recommended! Réservez une table maintenant

So good…the green chili enchiladas were amazing… a bit on the spicy side, but so delicious. I opted for them with ground beef. I would go back in a heartbeat and order the same meal! I sat at the small bar — great vibe with a friendly and attentive bartender.
