We recently visited this takeaway fish and chip shop at Golden Beach, Caloundra.It is only few steps across the road from the calm waters of Golden Beach. We grabbed a picnic table by the water and I enjoyed a beautifully, sizeable crumbed piece of fish, a massive serving of crispy chips, a non-greasy, thick potato scallop with lemon and tartare sauce all for $9.Certainly great value for money and the view of the water, boats, seagulls and pelicans at sunset cost nothing. The tables are so close to the water you can put your feet in the sand. There are also tables and chairs outside the shop.Can't wait to return
Have recently 'found' this little gem, the fish and chips are amongst the best I have tasted, the hamburgers melt in your mouth and leaving you wanting more. The shop is clean and sells a small range of goodies for the travelers and campers alike, they stock fishing gear and bait as well. The staff are friendly and efficient, will definitely eat there again, oh forgot to say that you get value for your money
I rang to order take away over the phone, they wouldn't tell me what fish they had, saying I would have to come in and look for myself.I then asked what serve of chips I would need for 5 people, with a reply of 'you tell me.' I reluctantly ordered chips which were discusting soggy and no one would eat them, not even our dog.They are rude with discusting food.
Saw a lot of negative reviews of The Silver Bream but went there today and the potato scallops were delightful (real ones not re-constituted) and chips were also great. Quick and no issues, great spot as well. We don't eat animals so really appreciate good potato products from a good chippie.

Our family has been buying fish and chips and salads (with beetroot) at this venue for years. The quality and consistency has been the drawcard. Clean shop and tidy presentation as well as the opportunity to dine on site looking at the water or great for take away to eat at home.
Try the couples pack. Best value fish and chips. Eat it in the park opposite and watch the passing boats, pelicans and jet skis.The calamari is also spot on if you want to give it a try. The shop is across from the Military Jetty, the quieter end of Golden Beach.
Delightfully fresh seafood with a great variety to select from. We ate our perfectly crumbed fish across the road and soaked up the relaxing atmosphere of the still waters of Pumicestone Channel. Fast and friendly service at a reasonable price. We will return.
We are not just one-off diners, we are locals who order fish & chips here regularly. Friendly and consistently good, never had a problem. Phone orders are usually ready within 5 minutes (we can't get there that fast!). To those who say the chips are...More

We went on the basis of the Tripadvisor reviews, the service was good, but the fish and chips yuk. The fish tasted old and the chips were soft and soggy, after a taste the fish and chips was thrown in the bin.
Fantastic fresh seafood takeaway with efficient service. Love the complimentary water views. Best value on the Sunshine Coast.
