The restaurant has been revamped, with doors now separating the dining area from the main pub, which was fantastic. It allowed us to eat and chat without competing with the music and lively groups in the bar. Our server, Tracy, was phenomenal; she went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. Our meals were served at just the right time, giving us a chance to chat and enjoy our drinks before digging in. The menu was impressive, offering a wide variety of choices. We’ve been to other pubs around the same hour (8 PM), only to find many dishes unavailable, leaving us with limited options. However, here, there were plenty of items to choose from. Despite this, I managed to eat what I could and brought my concerns to a staff member, who was incredibly kind and offered us complimentary drinks as an apology. The staff are clearly very busy but are genuinely pleasant. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return for the food. Furthermore, the strong smell of urine wafting from the restrooms was overwhelmingly unpleasant as we left. While the building itself is lovely and the staff are delightful, I believe the kitchen needs serious improvement. I wouldn't feel comfortable sending out a meal like that; it's really disappointing.
The food was some of the best we've had at a Hungry Horse; we tried the mixed grill and it was both tasty and worth every penny. Don't miss the Candymania dessert—it's a monster and could easily serve a family of four! The menu has a wide variety of options to cater to different dietary needs, so there's something for everyone. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the entire place was clean and well-maintained. If you’re looking for good value pub food, you can't go wrong here. We'll definitely be coming back!
Great tasting food/ good range of drinks available. (Only pub/restaurant i know local that sell koppaberg and a good atmosphere majority of the time. Used to have deals on Sundays but not anymore, which is a bit of a bummer seen as that's the day we mostly go but oh well. Whoever planned the toilets/cubicles was a bit of a over sight as there more like kids toilets can hardly get in them but not a deal breaker. Réservez une table maintenant
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the beer was outstanding. The food was perfect, and I will definitely return. The only downside is that the building looks a bit worn and could use some refreshing both inside and out. That said, it's a great spot for a quick beer and lunch. There's easy access to main roads and a spacious parking lot. Overall, I would rate it 9/10.
This is a charming little pub with affordable food and reasonable drink prices. You can get a pint for just £4.50, and on Mondays, they offer a deal of 2 Pub Classic Meals for £10.99. There's a spacious car park and easy access. The staff are really friendly as well.
