We stayed overnight recently while in Brighton to watch our daughter run the Brighton 10k. We had a long trip from Cornwall and we were hoping for a smart, comfortable hotel with some individuality, which was why we didn’t book somewhere like the Holiday Inn. We were not disappointed! Our room at the top of the building was really good, comfortable bed and huge flat screen TV with Netflix. The en-suite was equally good, with a smart looking powerful shower. Although we were in a bit of a hurry in the morning, we enjoyed our cooked breakfast which we were able to pre-order the previous evening. Honestly the worst experience. went for roast, first told nothing was gluten free checked with kitchen who confirmed nothing in the roast is gluten free (even the chicken, veg, potatoes?! checked again with the kitchen, who reluctantly suggested they could do just the chicken, veg, potatoes dry, no sauce asked if they could do a simple onion gravy, got stonewalled by reluctance to suggest what they could do eg make any alternative. service was rude and frankly backwards for a restaurant in Brighton to not keep up with the times and respect their customers, so disappointing... I ended up going to Hove place where they of course had options for me and I ended up having the best roast of my lif...
After being recomended this place for award winning Sunday lunch, we were left very disapointed. The service was poor. After taking our drinks order the waitress put her coat on and left, leaving us without a drink for 25 mins and having to reorder. The only meat left on the menu was pork, when the food did arrive it was on the cooler side of tepid and had to be sent back. All food was served potatoes and vegetables. First on the list were caulipops. No apology or mention was made, that these were missing. When asked the response was we ran out of those. This of couse wasnt reflected in the bill. We will not be returning.
Just had a lovely night away in this lovely little gem of a hotel. 2 minutes from Brighton Beach. Staff very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much bother for them. We took our little dog and had a beautiful room, my only regret is that we weren't there for longer, we will definitely go back again, would highly recommend. Breakfast was also lovely

Had an amazing two night stay at this lovely little hotel. out room was fresh and clean and the staff were outstanding. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choices from vegan to a full English, with much of the produce found locally. Location wise, its ideal, walking distance to most local attractions and just a 60 second walk to the beach.
Out for a walk in Hove and stumbled across this delightful oasis. Charming staff and truly delicious cocktails (we had the ‘Bramble’ I had to be dragged out after one or I would have spent the rest of the day and all my money here!
stayed 1 night Rooms impeccable Breakfast wonderful Staff superb Mix up with booking from last minute, but not an issue for the owners, they were happy to deal with it if back in brighton, this is where we will be staying
Its a pub with rooms. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Breakfast is generous and very tasty. Evening meals were excellent with a great selection of gins and whiskies. The staff are an eclectic mix of characters..
