The Surly Mermaid Tapas Bar & Eatery

Stopped here for lunch after visiting the Shaw Centre since it was close by. We arrived right at open so we were seated immediately. We ordered the following: Thai Coconut Mussels: Good sized mussels and reasonable serving size. Broth was a bit bland...though. Feature Soup: Average. It was Potato Bacon. Nothing special. Kids Chicken Strips and Fries Average overall. Fries were good, similar to McDonalds. Chicken was actually a breaded chicken cutlet that was sliced into smaller pieces. Cheese Board: Average. Red Snapper and Chips Good. Breaded style. Server was nice enough, but not the most focused. Gave us the wrong sized soup, and took our drink order wrong, but maybe she misheard because...

Had lunch at the Surly Mermaid. Place was quite busy so we left our name on the list for a patio table. They phoned us when it was ready, a quick minutes later. View over the marina is good. On the North east side...of the building so not overly exposed to sun nor wind. Started with a salmon corn chowder which was quite good. Followed by a decent “Summer” salad. Server was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Beer and drinks selection were good and prices reasonable. All in all, an enjoyable lunch

We had a wonderful meal here. Ambiance and service were fantastic. Drinks were great. Bartender made me a great coffee martini by request. We both had the salmon wrapped in puff pastry and savored every bite. Very generous portions. I highly recommend this restaurant. Beautiful...location right on the habour in Sydney

Our waitress, Kennedy was exceptional. We had the snapper appetizer which was amazing followed by the red snapper fish and chips which was excellent (although the chips were shoestring fries and were just ok). The tartar had dill in it which put my husband didn't...like. Awesome staff, awesome location Réservez une table maintenant

What amazing place, the decor, the location and the ambience, everything on perfect balance. The place was pack, but I got a seat at the bar, witch was great, all good came both very nice presente. Generously on size and very testy, I was in a rush tocatch the ferry but will come back

Beautiful views from this restaurant. Tried the corn dog appies but didn't dig the big chunks of cheese in it. My husband got the chicken burger with fries. The burger was good but a bit too much breading on chicken, fries were perfect and the servicewas Great.

Best chicken burger I have had maybe ever?! ???????????????????? came around 2pm for lunch and sat inside. Everything we had was delicious. Service was great with servers not being too in your face. Just like really good food.

Came here for happy hour and was a bit disappointed. The tiger prawns we got were pretty good but we didn't really like the fish tacos and the pear fig flat bread. The desserts were ok as well. Réservez une table maintenant

Absolutely fabulous lunch on the beautiful patio. We enjoyed the seafood salad, mussels, butter chicken poutine and crispy chicken salad. Everything was delicious

Great place Staff and management do a great job ! Food is always consistent ! View and atmosphere are fantastic. A must when in Sidney
