My partner and I celebrated her birthday with Sunday lunch at The Swan At Ullesthorpe last January, and it was undoubtedly the best roast we've experienced at a restaurant. We also enjoyed a couple of themed evenings there, and once again, everything was impeccable. For our belated wedding meal, we decided to return for another Sunday roast. Jenny generously offered us the upstairs room for 18 guests at no extra charge, allowing us to decorate and have the space for the entire afternoon. The breakfast was generally well-prepared and the staff were very friendly. However, as a regular local visitor to The Swan, I was disappointed this time. My breakfast had to be returned due to a hair in my food, and the brown sauce provided was off, having a strange, stringy texture. Although the waitress was understanding and arranged for a replacement, the original experience soured my enjoyment of the new meal.
