Cute cafe with great coffee and food! I had the creme brulee latte and I thought it tasted better than Starbucks' version. For food, I ordered the prosciutto gouda pretzel and tomato spinach roll. If I had to choose my favourite between the two it would be the pretzel it was very crispy and definitely the best tasting pretzel I've had. If you prefer softer, chewier foods, you may like to tomato spinach roll more. Altogether the total was just over $21 with tax. Very reasonable portions and prices coupled with freshness and great taste this is probably the best cafe I've been to including ones in Ottawa and Toronto. I'll be coming back if I visit Thunder Bay again!

This is a review of their 2nd location, as the main location has construction nearby and makes parking a nightmare. I drove to the Water Street location went inside (only) to be told that they were drive thru only and if I wanted to I could get in my car go thru the drive thru and they would serve me that way......yeah that makes sense, I want to see what you offer as far as pastry...not sure that works in a drive thru. Thhis along with the very expensive DRY cruffin I had two months ago is leading quickly to my 3 strikes your out policy
The food at this restaurant is incredibly tasty! They offer flourless options like the peanut butter cookie, but they cannot ensure that everything is gluten-free due to cross-contamination in the kitchen. They sometimes have vegan choices, and their drinks can be made with almond or soy milk for those who are vegan or dairy-free. Absolutely abysmal. $26.00 for rock hard Red Velvet cupcakes and brownies. Cupcakes were extremely small for the $3.50 a piece that they charge and the icing taste likes whipped butter. At least my coffee was good. I'll never spend money here again. I'll take my business to the new Milk and Water which is opening a block away. Very disappointing first time customer, which also makes me a last time customer.
The iced latte and cookie were excellent! There is a wide variety of pastries to choose from. The butter tarts would be improved if they weren't kept in such a cold fridge; they are too hard and the filling is tough. The staff is incredibly friendly; when I accidentally dropped my butter tart, it was promptly replaced. There is plenty of comfortable seating inside the restaurant.
I visited the restaurant the other day around 10AM and ordered a breakfast pastry with scrambled eggs in it. When I took a bite, I discovered that it was still frozen, with cold veggies and egg inside. I was shocked that they sold me a frozen pastry without informing me that it needed to be heated up. It was a terrible experience and the food was awful.
At North Sweets the bakery goods are exceptional! The staff is welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing. The specialty coffees are creative and delicious. The dark roast is delectable. Do yourself a favor and try the sticky bun UN believable Réservez une table maintenant
