What can I say about The Toadstool Pub? If you ever had been here, you would want to visit again and again. Maybe you never want to go. An old tyme local atmosphere, with a friendly and knowledgeable waiting staff. And pretty. With only a modest eight beers on the design, they still seem to satisfy what your thirst desires. And if you're looking for a snack, or maybe more? There is a great option to order right next door when the cartridge toads, and the process is also easy. Great company. Good beer. The bathrooms are a little weird. But unlike that, it is highly recommended. Toadstool is my favorite irrigation hole in all Highwood, IL.
What a charming, laid-back, and classic pub! We enjoyed some music as we walked in. The staff was very friendly. Initially, we ordered a few drinks at the bar and then found a table outside. A tip: the seating on the left side is designated for food orders, while the direct seating is for drinks only. The band Wall of Denial, a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan, performed on Sunday, and they were fantastic! The experience was decent overall. It was a bit noisy, which made it difficult to have a conversation. However, the restaurant next door was conveniently close; we could easily walk over, grab a bite, and return since they are attached. Once we settled down with the band outside, the atmosphere improved significantly. It really felt like a welcoming Irish family establishment, and the owner was very attentive, making us feel right at home.
I was passing through Highwood yesterday and saw the Toadstool which looked really inviting so I stopped in. Tommy was awesome. The atmosphere was top notch. The beer was ice cold and there are outlets to charge your phone right at the bar. It was a great stop. Even though I don’t live in that pretty town I will be going back to visit the Toadstool. Thanks!!!

This is a welcoming neighborhood bar with fantastic bartenders! I will definitely return. On the day we visited, they had $3.50 drinks, which was a nice bonus!
Great pub to go and listen to live music. We were personally greeted by the owner. Seating for the band is outside. Really good **** Mary's.
