We went here awhile back when it was still part of the Howard Johnson, the food and ambiance was amazing and very memorable we came back today with the dogs and stopped at the new location the food was just as amazing as before We were seated very quickly, the person working the parking lot was great, but there was one server I unfortunately didn't catch his name that went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, when the band came they played obnoxiously loud and the music wasn't very good (given we requested to be reseated as soon as they began because of how uncomfortable they made the animals and myself with their loud and poor playing so they could have improved from how bad they s...
This location has been a challenge for several restaurants, but I think this one has finally figured it out. The food is good, it's consistent, and the service is great. I love how they finally enclosed the area for the bands, which they have every day. It's very popular, which can sometimes mean it's hard to find parking, but as a local, I just use the free beach ride services.They also have a sister restaurant next door (Bouys) which has a dock and the same quality food and service. At first glance, The Toasted Monkey has a cheesy familiarity. The decor lacks any style or soul. But there’s much more substance here than meets the eye. It’s a busy restaurant and bar with a laid-back demeanor that suits its St. Pete Beach locale. And it’s very serious about its cocktails, its food and live music. The chicken avocado bacon sandwich ($12.99) was truly incredible! I would return just for that sandwich alone. The fries were good as well. Margaritas are priced at $8.54 each. The vegetarian nachos ($9.99) were decent, but they would have been much better if the shredded cheese had been melted. Super cool beach vibe bar and restaurant. Food was very good. Service was friendly and accommodating to small children. It is a big place but is usually very busy. The salads were fresh. The calamari was very good compared to other bar appetizers we havehad. The Cuban sandwich was a hit with several party members! Definitely worth a try if you are in the area!
The waitress was immediately attentive when we sat down, and her cheerful demeanor added to the experience. The view was fantastic. It was my first time there, and I felt incredibly comfortable. I especially loved that I could turn around and pet a dog—nothing beats that! I've already shared with my friends that we need to go back together.
Kristen was amazing, she was so attentive to our needs and was there when needed, I would recommend sitting at her table everyday. Her smile and attitude was top notch, was easy to speak to and conversed very well… I would recommend sitting at her table on the top of toasted monkey!
