This place is great! I've been to Colombia a couple of times and this place cooked their food close to how they cooked it there. It helps their chef was originally from Cali, Colombia. Empanadas are fried just right and the salsa had a nice kick. Their oatmeal drink was delicious and not too sweet. Their rice and meat dish with chicharon, sausage and fried egg were delicious. Place is a bit small but, that's okay. They do close a bit earlier than what it shows on Google. Highly recommend! I had my first experience with Colombian cuisine, and it was incredible! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly, and the staff took the time to explain the menu, making us feel very welcome and guiding us in our food choices. The hospitality was exceptional, and the atmosphere felt truly authentic. We also tried some local drinks recommended by our hostess, which added to the experience. Overall, it was a fantastic outing, and I would highly recommend it. I even took some local chocolates to go for dessert—they were delicious!
Toston is a delightful Colombian spot that serves a wonderful version of fried plantains, akin to pizza—hearty, flavorful, and healthy. The couple running the place, Christina and Chef Alex, are incredibly friendly and welcoming. My only disappointment was that Christina seemed to forget her promise of free Colombian coffee for first-time customers. We enjoyed the coffee but ended up having to pay for it. Hopefully, they’ll remember the coffee offer when we visit again!
Alex and Christina are truly exceptional—so friendly and inviting! They were incredibly helpful in navigating the menu. The restaurant has a lovely charm, with decor and ambiance that are spot on. The food was incredible, bursting with flavorful aromas, thoughtfully chosen ingredients, and delightful combinations! I can't wait to return for more. The pulled pork was fantastic!
