The traditional chip shop is a fish and chips restaurant on Bondi beach that serves authentic style food very similar to that served at Fish and Chip shops in the UK and Ireland. <br/ <br/ The restaurant is attractively decorated, and has a range of tables and chairs, both inside and outside in a covered patio. I ended up in this place just by chance but it was one of the greatest fish and ship experiences I have had outside of Borough Market in London. I dare say that Bondi was better because of the OUT OF THIS WORLD cheese sauce. Honestly if Bondi was the same distance to me as NY city I would have gone there twice annually just for the fish and chips and the shrimp and chips. As a tourist I didn't find the price to be high and I liked the funk rock star attitude of the women that served my wife and I. Je ne reviendrais plus jamais ici, terrible nourriture et service. J'ai commandé des poissons grillés et des frites ringardes, le poisson est venu sans citron, les copeaux étaient faits maison, tout ce qui est beau, mais ils étaient boueux, et comme ils foient des frites de fromages de Sydney, ils s'attendent à ce que le fromage fondu, ce n'est pas le cas. Il est seulement pulvérisé, fromage écrasé. Je suis allé sur le fromage pour être fondu à nouveau et puis, quand c'était fini, la serveuse me ressemblait à me dégoûter et faisait un commentaire alors en retour, j'ai dit, oui, cela a plus de sens et qu'elle a très défensif et qu'elle a dégoûté ton "excusez-moi".

We went in because the shop sign says it is authentic. It may be authentic UK fish and chips flavour but I have to say this is not something I like. Chips are worse than the ones I can buy from supermarket. For there is only one piece of fish served and loads of chips. The cheesy chips was served with unmelted cheese. When we went to the counter and ask if we could have it heated so the cheese can melt, was told this is how it’s meant to be. If you want lemon with your fish and chips, you will also need to ask the staff. Way overpriced and very rude staff.
Lovely small fish and chips shop along the main beach strip at Bondi. Service was friendly and the store looked clean and modern. There is a few tables and benches for seating but why not enjoy your meal across the road so you can take one of Australias most iconic beaches. Oh I should mentioned the food which I rated high but the prices were a bit higher (just under $20 fish) than what I usual get fish for but this I would say is because you are paying for much higher quality produce.

I have been waiting to eat fish and chips all week while I am in Sydney and I see this shop everyday as we walk to the train station.

The Traditional Chip shop is good old fashioned fish and chips served in a very British and Irish way.
More appropriately it should be named "Greasy Traditional Chip Slop".
