Went twice in one week. Monday lunch was fab, everyone enjoyed fish and chips (5 people), really lovely, attentive ladies serving. Sunday lunch, they didn't have much non- alcoholic stock behind the bar, and the kids meals were a bit sad looking (hot dog and pizza). The amount of food on the roast was great, but all the beef was well done, so didn't get an option, and a fish and chips triumphed again. The food was absolutely beautiful ...the best Beef Roast I've had in a long time!! My husband loved his Burger too and the salt and pepper chicken was so tasty. The kids meals were great too!! Nice pint of Landlord. Ordered the veggie curry which was tasty and a good sized portion. You could probably lose the bought in flat bread adds to your costs unnecessarily IMO. Friendly staff. The Big Pub has recently reopened under the leadership of John and Wendy, and they have truly made us proud! A major highlight is the return of the talented Steve Paton as the executive chef. The food is fantastic, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting at this charming village pub.
