I ordered the MINTED LAMB BURGER. I was looking forward to a gorgeous, juicy burger with all the trimmings (for the cost of it). How disappointed was I! What arrived was a dry, toasted bun, nothing on it at all, a thin burger, no salad,...coleslaw, nothing at all apart from chips. When I complained, the manager kindly came and spoke to me. Apparently that’s how burgers are served, he thought their was nothing wrong with it. Eventually he agreed to swap it “if the kitchen will do it”. That was the last I saw of the Manager. we rented an apartment for a week, which was only a few minutes walk from the pub and we would have used it regularly during our holiday. in the first night our group spent on eating was beautiful and our...servers were super at this point it would have been a five star review and a regular visit for a week spent (they would imagine that had been welcomed grateful if the effects of the pandemic). unfortunately, grumpy bärdy kerl (lost? duty manager made us feel so involuntary that we do not return.
This is my go-to pub, although I don't frequent it often. It is a lovely establishment with a spacious beer garden and a children's playground, making it family-friendly. They also show football and cricket matches and host quizzes. However, I recently dined here with a group of friends during pie week and found the pies to be very disappointing. They were overcooked with tough pastry and lacked good quality ingredients. The pub is nice but could improve on their food offerings.
This was not a pleasant experience. The staff was unfriendly and the service was slow, even though the restaurant was not busy. No one checked in on us to see how our food was and we all found it to be unenjoyable. There was a strong odor throughout the establishment. I would not recommend this place to others.

Lovely Sunday lunch delivered to our house today. Ordered main course and sweet. It was delivered on time and the helpings were generous. We ordered for my sons family at the same time and they also enjoyed it but struggled to get through the portions....Hope to do it again in a few weeks.
Our first visit to The Walnut Tree was a pleasant surprise. The ambiance was lovely and the menu offered a variety of delicious, home-cooked dishes. We were impressed with the quality of the food and the service was top-notch. We highly recommend this restaurant.
From the mis-communication regarding a booking to the unhelpful staff who weren’t accommodating upon arrival to the mediocre food, I’d recommend heading elsewhere unless you just fancy a pint then it’s nice enough with a good outside area.
Nice food, very attentive and friendly staff. Made a small mistake with our meal but apologised and rectified this very quickly and amended the bill. Highly recommend
