My partner and I were here to watch Eng vs Bel on 28/06. First impressions were average, some parts of the pub were recently clearly renovated, but others were a little drab, some of the seats for example. Anyway, it was relatively quiet and had two screens plus a vegan option (good for my partner), so we were happy to stay. The beer was good as the service. I was unhappy that a couple were in front of me, but continued to buy a dozen drinks. Not the employees owe it. I was in stock and if I had a complaint, the beer was pretty warm. It was a particularly hot night, so I'm not sure if it had an influence on the cellar. The real star was the food. My partner Chickpea Hotpot was fragrant, tasteful and generously cut. I had half a dozen different mushrooms and Halloumi Burger, but that was by far the best. We also got a part of chips that were overqualified with the portion sizes. These were also great, a large part and season with cracked pepper and sea salt. Other customers food also looked great. In short, the food was 6 out of 5. Honestly, the net could have doubled the price and I wouldn't have cheated. Everything else was 3 to 4. The landlord must keep the cook. We like to go back to dinner, but could skip if it was just for drinks.
