Been here a couple of times–the first by chance, the second on purpose with a beer lover in tow. I knew he’d like it. It’s one of those proper ale pubs with a menu of interesting beers chalked up on a blackboard. And it seems to have won various awards. It’s a beautiful, small, traditional cottage pub with two cosy bar rooms and a hatch where you order your drinks. First time I visited, it was summer, and I sat outside in the pretty garden that climbs up a slope. They serve a lunch buffet of quality cold food, and I had a lovely piece of cheese-potato-and-chive pie with salad and slaw Everything I’ve drunk here was very well kept.
