I wasn't as impressed as some of the other reviewers. I ordered a $12 bowl of gumbo, and when the server informed me it was chicken and sausage gumbo, I was confused because the menu didn't indicate it was a daily special; it clearly listed what was included in the $12 bowl. Unfortunately, there were no shrimp or crab, just a bowl of greasy broth with some rice and vegetables, which resembled more of a gravy than gumbo. Additionally, I waited at least 10 minutes for dry hush puppies that would have been good, but were so dry that I needed a glass of water just to swallow them. I am new to the neighborhood and being from a tropical island I believe in always supporting local!I've also lived near NOLA and loved the food. The Workshop's dishes brings me back to my time out there!!!One of my favorite things to do is ordering the soup of the day blind(I never look or ask what it is) and enjoying it at the pier on my day off!!! Vegetarian options: For me the roasted veggie option is a vegetarian with the option of adding a protein source. Parking: I have not had any issues finding parking... Kid-friendliness: My kids would be fine but not sure about other kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible!
Been meaning to try the workshop for 2 years now. Finally did and I 'm sorry I waited so long. The people are very welcome, and on a nice day during outside and eating would be pleasant too, but this The Workshop is about the food, and they do that well. This is the kind of place where if they make it, it 's made well. This is the first time I 've ever been impressed by chicken pot pie. They 're not heating up frozen meals or serving food that didn 't sell yesterday . Their plates scream of freshness and handmade love of cooking. I can 't wait to go back, and you should go now.
Good food that’s down to the nitty gritty… I hate the specials and what makes them great is only offered daily, but it works for them so I’m happy for that. But it’s a good spot and it’s definitely worth the try. I had the oyster and shrimp Poboys. They were both really good. I spruced them up with a little extra tartar sauce and hot sauce. Other than that, it was good to go. Definitely a must try if you want southern soul cuisine in the area.

How this place doesn’t have 5 stars across the board is beyond me. I’ve grazed through the reviews and they make no sense… 4 stars because the side of sauce was too hot? That’s Cajun food sorry. 4 stars because you ordered food that’s not your particular liking in the first place? How is that a reflection on the establishment? Everything about this place is 5 stars!!!! This is grade A creole cuisine across the board
This place is so yummy. I've tried almost everything in their menu so far and I can tell you I haven't been disappointed. The owners are amazing they are very friendly. They have tables and seats outside in front of the place if you would like to eat there. Just have some courtesy if you're a smoker, smoke away from the place and have some respect for the people eating outside.
Quaint local place. Excellant service. I had the Shrimp Po Boy and it was excellent. It was alot larger then i expected but that way i had some for later. Outside tables with delightful music playing, plenty of shade and these great little fans that also keep the bugs away. Cant wait to return.
Their gumbo and chicken pot pie is too die for Wish they served it everyday Also love the mixed seafood plate When you order its best to call it in because they can have a bit of a line

Excellent food, particularly the Saturday special beans and rice. I overlooked this great place for months because of its unhelpful name— I thought it was a carpentry store.
