When my friend told me that I actually wrote on Thirsty Cow, I was in disbelief because I didn't remember this KBBQ place locating right next to Costco in City of Industry. Wait times are insane even for a late Thursday night....650pm name put down, our party of 12 got seated at 9pm, with 50min to order before last call 950pm. The older I get the more I shy away from AYCE BBQ but this will easily be my go to spot anytime I need that fix.At under $50 per person the premium meat quality and selection is the best in town. We got multiple orders of the Black Angus Hand Cut Short Rib (Original Marinated), Woodae Galbi, Beef Tongue, Beef Belly, Pork jowl. The Woodae Galbi was easily my favorite as it melted like wagyu! This place is worth the wait! We arrived around 6:00 PM on a Sunday and were bummed to see that there was a nearly 2-hour wait time. Luckily, the waitlist system allows you to keep track of how many parties are in front of you. With this knowledge, our group headed over to BJ?s for a couple of beers while we waited. We quickly realized that the numbers were going down fast, so we headed back when it was down to only 10 parties ahead of us. This is a very honest opinion. I don't worry about food and I eat to live so my reviews should be taken with a grain salt that you need a lot in this place, but I was at some of these Korean BBQ places so I give you the cliff notes of my experience. The meat is good. Not amazing, but good. The pages were all old, dry, inconvenient, and some should have been tortured. Salad or salad was not good. The red sauce was in any case watered. The service was unbearable that we felt like we were pulling teeth to only talk to a server. Bathros, we're disgusting. I would say the quality and overall experience was less than GEN, but it is $47/person. This is my experience.
Friends and I came before they opened on Monday at 5:00. There was a small line. No problem. The restaurant capacity is quite huge as long as we made it to the first seats, not wait long. For AYCE KBBQ, meat quality is really good. It's worth it. Services were also great! They were very pleasant and could even feel their smile behind the mask. Make sure to save some space for the pimples at the end of dinner!
