What a great discovery! Hidden at the bottom of Glebe pt Rd, who would have thought you would need to book in order to get a seat at this really funky bar? <br/ When we got there around 6.30pm, it was fairly busy and being a Friday evening. The waiter allowed us to sit at a reserved table until the patrons of the table got there. We were mid way through our meal when the patrons who booked the table arrived to claim their table, so there were no available tables but was offered to be seated on the piano. Yes the piano. It was fine, but it felt like you were in trouble and reprimanded for being naughty. We were sitting, facing the wall. Not the greatest seat in the world. On the bright side,...

I've been passing Timbah for months, and after visiting for the first time last night, I can't help but feel like I've wasted some time not dropping in sooner. Looking for something low-key and relaxed for some quality food and some decent vino during the week without the noise, Timbah sure pleased. The service is warm, and dining format is explained up front if you're new to the experience. There is a sophisticated yet unpretentious vibe, easily capable of taking place of one of your regulars. Everything is order at the bar, with a few exceptions when quiet. Any open wines can be purchased by the glass, alternatively you can opt for anything and everything if committing to a bottle.<br/ <br...
Timbah can 't be seen from Glebe Point Rd. A giant sign is painted on The Little Bottle Shop of Glebe at the corner of the street, directing you to turn right on Forsyth. The bar will be on your left, practically concealed in the whitewash of its exterior, which also appears pimpled (not sure what this type of textured façade would be named). The inside is designed in a minimalistic approach, with wooden accents and zigzag rope partitions. I always get overwhelmed by extensive wine lists, and Timbah 's is no exception. Deciding to order by the glass, I asked our waitress to suggest a nice Red. This prompted her to explain that the first six people get to decide which bottles of wine to open,...
I have never tried tapas before, so I was so excited when my friend told us she was treating us here for her birthday dinner. A bit difficult to find after getting off from the tram and Google maps made it worse finding this gem but, we eventually got there after a fair bit of walking. Although we were late for our booking, the lady still welcomed us with the smile on her face and she was like a concerned mom, which was refreshing. My friend ordered all the tapas on the menu and I loved all of them as they were good portion sizes, seasoned well and absolutely tasty. The interiors of the restaurant had that intimate feel as there were only a few seats available. We reckoned everyone who came... Réservez une table maintenant
Glebe isn 't my local, and I probably would have never know about this place if a friend hadn 't suggested drinks here. Four of us got a table on a Friday after work. We thought we might stay for a couple drinks and ordered some wine by the glass. I had a Pinot Noir recommend by the barman. At some stage I remember saying WHY are we doing ordering this wine by this glass? and coming back with a bottle of Rosé. Good times ensued. The share plates were tasty and fun to share (as share plates should be). I recommend starting with drinks here and then moving down the road to another small bar in Glebe to continue your night.
A lovely venue to have a tipple or two served with some great bar food snacks or cheeses on offer.<br/ <br/ This was our third place to visit as part of The Glebe Tasting Treks. We had some Salmon Blinis to whet the appetite. We finished with a Cheeseboard and nice glasses of wine. There was a super creamy cheese on the board that was definitely a highlight for most on this food tour. <br/ <br/ This wine bar is definitely a great place to hang out as a great end to an evening with wine and cheese or just as a stand-alone for leisurely evening with friends or family.
Bosslady Louise is very passionate about her wine having owned the front liquor shop for 14 years so when she gave me a delicious glass of Dante Gabriel Vermentino 2015 Adelaide Hills i was in heaven. The food here is native australian inspired gathering delicious ingredients from country co-operatives. I highly recommend the Balmain bug, lobster and prawn rolls with lemon myrtle and the Salmon ceviche, finger lime, jalapeño, guacamole! If your waiter is Ashley then you will be looked after like an old friend.
Been here a few times and it’s always a such a nice experience. The food itself hasn’t been the highlight but the atmosphere and vibe is always enjoyable! Especially when there has been live music! Can’t beat good cheese, nice wine and and sounds of an acoustic guitar to start the evening or end a long day. Réservez une table maintenant
I am giving this place five stars for hygiene food safety. The Food Authority of NSW awarded them 5 out of 5, on 25/11/2014 as part of their scores on doors scheme. (Full list available on the City of Sydney website.

"I was satisfied with the food. Burgers are between $14.90 and $15.90. The drinks are more expensive than other places, and the free Wi-Fi is slow and stops working intermittently."
