Adults, children At first they bring you sheet to fill your requests, no pictures, no descriptions, we order a few basic rolls, Miso soups, appetizers, cones and sashimi. All plates are chipped worn out garage sale cutlery. they pack so much rice...in every roll it was hard to taste it! Sashimi is full ligaments, their specialty rolls for the all you can eat are an illusion of left of over seafood hidden with sauce. Came here on a Saturday night after a visit to RAM because they take reservations. There are locations and this one is in an older trendy area of Edmonton called Old Strathcona. There is street parking and we found a spot right in front....It's free after so we paid for minutes. When we arrived we were seated promptly. This is an unassuming place, with high quality fresh fish, some shipped in from Osaka. My wife and I live in the building upstairs from here, so we eat here quite regularly. And we are always happy. Went to try the ayce at Allendale location after reading all the good reviews. I’m appalled by the cook/chef. The worst Sushi we ever had. Spicy salmon was so spicy and burned my mouth, was basically drenched in Sriracha sauce. I told the waitress, ..she was like that’s our spicy salmon, shrugged left. They also put too much rice on the sushi. No dessert in the ayce menu. Miso tasted smelled very funky. Won’t be going back.
Foods are just ok. The services are below average. They only provide a tea pot for people. They do not provide the washabi with the sashimi until you ask for it. There is a charge for any leftover. Desert included but has to ask...for. They offer senior discount, but they will check your ID first.
I have nothing positive to say about this place. It has dull decor, poor service , poor food. Located on a very busy street WHYTE Ave ... mediocre tasteless and charges about the same as any other Japanese restaurant
I got the assorted sushi platter ($18.50) which came with 8 pieces of sushi (all different) and 6 salmon maki rolls.
