The food here is incredible. I have been many times and never been disappointed. The food is all fresh and made to order. It is authentically Japanese and can be customised. My family gets the Soft Shell Crab roll and the chef makes it half spicy and half non-spicy which is extremely accommodating. It is affordable and in great location. For lunch they offer $10 bento lunches which is great value and stocked full of food. I always leave Tokyo Syokudo full. So glad it is doing so well. My favourite Japanese restuarant.
I suggest you book as this is a small but cosy venue with limited seats, with a few tables outside. The service is warm and friendly, the food fresh and inviting. If you are not sure what to choose you can leave the choice in the capable hands of Hidio the owner/chef, he gives a great selection for you to try. The food is great, do yourself a favour and try it out.
Excellent food, visit here often and after holidaying in Japan for 3 weeks the food here is equal if not better than the restaurants we dined in Japan.The owner is actually the chef so there is no doubt about the standard of the food.the service is always friendly,attentive and quick.I suggest that you book ahead as it is a small restaurant and it is always full.
Simple menu exquisitely prepared. And very well priced. There are so many dishes and each one is prepared to perfection. This feels like a local Japanese diner, small, friendly and packed!! A local favourite it's always packed - so bookings are essential. My favourites are teriyaki udon, tempura and their salads. The rest of my family can't decide!!

This is a very small restaurant. With only about 6 tables inside and a few outside. The food though was awesome! Very quick to serve and not long to wait for the food. Only thing lacking at the end was the service to clean up before the next customers came in. But overall good food, good location.
Our go to for Japanese locally. Although small in size the food at Tokyo Syokudo doesn't fail to impress. We ordered the Tuna Rolls, Salmon/Avo Rolls and two Bento boxes (fish and chicken teriyaki) and as per usual everything was tasty & fresh. Service is speedy.Book ahead!
You can tell how good a sushi restaurant is by the quality of its Wasabi- and the only place I've had better is at The Tokyo fish markets! everything they have is amazing. I LOVE the tofu salad. We come at least once a month
Simple, clean, delicious food. Our friends enjoyed the teriyaki chicken and the ginger chicken. The prices represented fantastic value for the size of the portions. Quick, polite service. Glad we stopped and ate here!

Excellent Japanese food, fabulous service!! A definite favourite in the area! Take away is also excellent, though their eftpos machine is often out of order so you need cash!
This is a local that we always enjoy. The standard of food is the best on Croydon. Love their brisket it is wonderful. Highly recommended.
