This is my first time at Tomatillo Taco Joint, and I’m immediately a fan. The food is incredibly delicious, and the service was great! My father and I both got salad bowls. The tomatillo vinaigrette is fresh and flavorful — SO much better than the watered down salsa verde you might find at Chipotle or Qdoba. They even have actual poblano in their fajita veggies, such a delightful surprise. I’m so impressed and shocked that this place isn’t more popular or well-reviewed. These small details made for such a more nuanced and well rounded taste. THE AMERICAN DREAM AND THE THINGS IT MAKES YOU DO! Well today was fun, this encounter belongs in a comedy show. Today I go and order two burritos, I see that this lady looks Spanish speaking so I tell my mom to order as my mom is only Spanish speaking. She looks at my mom with the most clueless eyes, so cute could almost make you believe she isn’t Spanish speaking. Like we say in my country we can see it in your face sweetheart. Anyways no biggie! I translate we sit down, she must’ve forgotten to wait for us to leave to break character. Low and behold like magic she speaks Spanish, last time we had the same issues where the staff pretends to not know how to speak Spanish.
The food can be a bit bland, as traditional Mexican cuisine tends to focus on fresh ingredients rather than heavy seasonings. While it may not have the bold flavors you're looking for, it can certainly be a step up from Taco Bell. However, the service leaves much to be desired, particularly in terms of attentiveness in both Spanish and English. I’ve frequently received incorrect orders, so dining here can feel like a bit of a gamble.
This restaurant closes earlier than what is stated on their website. I arrived at 7:40 PM, even after being informed that they close at 8 PM, and found the door locked. This was very inconvenient!

I get it that inflation is a thing right now, but these up charges are ridiculous. Charging a dollar for sour cream…charging more for the tortilla and every side…bukaboos is the way to go now.
Hd a veggie burrito bowl all the flavors just seemed to go into each other loved it thought I had chosen the chicken I guess I didn't add but it was super delicious
They should stop lying about being open until 9pm bc this is the third time we attempt to stop by not even at 8:00pm and they are closed. Very disappointing

Food is good. Prices are reasonable. Staff is polite. I also like the ambience, it is minimal but does the job of giving you a Mexican feel.
