Tomodachi Izakaya & Bar

One of my favourite restaurants on the Geelong Little Malop Street strip. One of the more affordable options on this street, with really tasty food. My favourite is the Agedashi Tofu, an excellent starter, really good to share, beautiful dish. Tomodachi are experts at tofu, all their tofu dishes have unique flavouring and textures tofu is a textures game. I really recommend their mocktails, often nicer than their (good) cocktails. The restaurant is nice and warm on a cold, wet night. I'm not the biggest fan of the new online ordering system, but we worked it out, it creates a bill, to be paid for at the end, though the menu items aren't organised the best. I stopped in for a lateish solo dinner and was served promptly. Delicious food - renkon (lotus root) chips, wakame salad and yakitori skewers. The staff were very helpful over the strength of the plum wines on offer, and helped me choose one that wouldn't stop me driving after just one glass. Slilghtly pricier than the various sushi franchises that I go to regularly, but it's a different class of dining. Certainly looking forward to going back.

A great meal at this authentic little Japanese restaurant in the heart of Geelong. Food was all delicious, and staff very friendly as well. Sesame prawns from the specials menu were nearly the best we have ever eaten, Okonomiyaki certainly the best we have had outside of Japan. Will most definitely be making a return visit here. The food is lovely with a good selection of vegetarian options. the spring rolls and gyoza are the best. My only complaint is they don't seem to stick to their posted hours (as in the hours on the door). They seem to close early or just not open with no prior warning Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch

Fantastic food with great vegetarian and vegan options. Very clean and in a wonderful location. Anyone seafood lover who walks past here for brunch and doest have the King Prawn chilli scramble is a Mug. This is my first visit here a d will be back to try all the other creative delicious dishes. My new favorite on the Geelong waterfront.

The yakisoba we ordered was EXTREMELY salty, one of the saltiest dish I’ve ever had dining out.
