I haven't even checked out yet, but I wanted to share my thoughts on this place. It's truly a gem! We had some business in Stamford but didn’t want to stay right in town, so we decided to give this hotel a try. It’s beautiful, and it seems there are no limits to how well an old Howard Johnson can be transformed. The rooms are extremely comfortable, particularly the beds. I stayed in a room near the highway, so I could hear some traffic, but it wasn't bothersome at all. The high-tech features in the room were actually enjoyable and easy to use. Overall, this is a cool hotel. It's a nice modern, eclectic and funky hotel with the most technical bathroom I've ever seen. The pool area is very nice except they should make the music louder to drown out the highway sound since the hotel does sit rightoff of the highway. The big problem with this hotel is the noise level in the rooms. I've been told by a friend of mine that ifyou have a room overlooking the courtyard, you will hear a lot of noise. Well, my room was overlooking Tony's restaurant on theupper floor. That wasn't the issue but the front desk people were. You could hear them laughing at 6:00 a.m. My room was closestto the desk. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything....
The hotel room was decent, though quite pricey due to the busy season. Unfortunately, my experience with customer service was very disappointing and left a negative impression. My 6-year-old daughter accidentally left her cherished stuffed animal in the room—a toy she has had since infancy. We called just a few hours after checking out and have followed up four times since then, but we have yet to receive any response. The staff members we’ve spoken to have shown no willingness to assist us. I expected much better service from a hotel that costs over $400 a night.
We went for a mother daughter weekend and had a fantastic time. The hotel is so nice there’s a really modern vibe to the place and the technology aspect is excellent. The room was so nicely decorated and clean. The staff were so friendly and the breakfast was just perfect. Really happy with the place and we will definitely be back. The food was fantastic — a solid Triple A! The staff's service was excellent. The only downside is the layout of the space; I feel that the dance floor should be in the center of the room, but it's located on the other side. Aside from that, it's an excellent and beautiful venue. Hotel highlights: Great value!
