I used to frequent Tavern before the year 2000 and always enjoyed their Cajun wings, which had won numerous awards. After moving to Arizona, I never found a wing sauce I liked as much as theirs. It had been many years since I had visited North Eastern Pennsylvania, but on a recent trip back to see family, Tavern was a must-visit on my list. Despite some mixed reviews, the experience exceeded my expectations after 22 years. Our server, Ashley, was also the bartender and was incredibly friendly to us, three strangers in her dining room. During a recent visit to see family, the Town Tavern was at the top of my list of places to go. I noticed some mixed reviews and was uncertain what to expect after 22 years. However, they did not disappoint! Our server and bartender, Ashley, was incredibly friendly to the three strangers who had entered her dining room. She informed me that they still offered the Cajun wings I loved so much. I'm really disappointed with this place. It’s not what it once was; it used to be famous for its great wings. We recently ordered takeout and were let down. When I called to place our order, one of the items we wanted was unavailable. We waited the promised hour for our food to be ready, only to find out that another item we ordered was also not available when we arrived. While I was waiting for the bartender to bring out our order, I noticed two other staff members walk by without even asking if I needed assistance. Place used to be good. Food has been not great lately. They added casino games which is so tacky. The owners come in here and there but don't associate with anyone other than what seem to be their friends. Was there on a Saturday and the bartender was very slow. Beer was at least cold and the place was clean.

This was our first time stopping in and we are happy that we did. The mango habenero and sweet thai chili wings were delicious. Service was also great and the place is very clean. We will definitely be back.
I love this place, the wings are so good. Lots if sauces to choose from. We come all the time, we have actually been down 3 diff times in the past 2 weeks cause my mom is in. She loves you guys too.
Great food! Great service! Rotating food specialities. Best soup. Very reasonable prices. Many TVs and bartenders have no problem changing the channel to what you want to see.
This family-run restaurant in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area is the best by far! The award-winning wings are consistently delicious and the staff is top-notch.
