This place is a home. Don't go into it and think you can just review it without having at least a basic understanding of what its all about. Its not new or flashy, neither does it impart with opulence in any contemporrery designer standards. If you are the kind of person that needs to keep ups with the Joneses STOP and smell the roses before you give this place or any like it a review. I could go on and you may ask why I have given this place a 5 but if you are so caught up in yourself and artificial stimulation and modern salty taste explosions you should stop reading this now. Booked an early table here whilst visiting Melbourne last week.We arrived at 6.30pm and it filled up quickly.Nice atmosphere although music could be turned down a bit.We ordered the Saganaki to start which was good but looked nothing when it arrived no garnish, just a piece of cheese in an overly large pan.I had Zucchini fritters which were divine and mother the slow cooked lamb which was tender but again no presentation and salad drowned in gravy on the same plate.Good Greek salad.Although quiet nice the bloke hosting( the big guy) kind of gave you the feeling to hurry up and eat and go so he could turn the table over and the food came out at record speed.Don't go here if you want a slow ro...
Met up with my friend and his family for dinner last night.Very deceiving when you arrive, as it is only has a small frontage, but like the Tardis from Dr Who, small on the outside but big on the inside !We started with Saganaki which was very tasty, and bread and dips. As usual you always run out of bread before you finish the dips, but the staff got more bread to us very quickly.The 3 kids had souvlaki's which were a generous size, and the 4 adults shared a meat platter plus a spicy sausage dish. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, service was very good, and the food excellent.It was a bit noisy, but that is expected at Greek restaurants, but I would recommend a visit
We were a group of 4 and it was our first visit to Trapezi. We ordered entrees, mains and desert and we were very happy with them all. We particularly like the saganaki for entree, all of the 4 different mains were all good. We couldn't decide when it came to selecting one of the 3 deserts each. So the friendly waiter suggested a tasting of each to share which we did. All were delicious and the baklava with rose water syrup was especially delicious and my favourite. The food was home style which we loved and without fancy frills that some restaurants have. The staff were all friendly and the restaurant had a real family feel to it. We really enjoyed our visit. This small Greek restaurant feels like you've been invited in the owner's home.The dishes are an explosion of colour and flavour.If I had a Greek mother I'm sure she'd cook and serve food b like this.I recommend that you order several entree plates and share.Great food, friendly service and reasonable prices; the perfect combination!
This is an amazing place for Greek food....it's like second to none. Wonderful atmosphere and attentive waiting staff. The food was excellent and timed to perfection. The owner introduced himself and even bought us a round of drinks. Overall, a warm atmosphere with fantastic food.
This restaurant exceeded our expectations. Food was great quality, service was efficient, yet friendly and very welcoming indeed. We felt as though we were in Greece... the lamb and seafood platters were delicious and generous! Absolutely recommend this restaurant.
