Trappers Choice Restaurant

A first visit to Trappers Choice will be our last one. The restaurant was suggested by staff at a local hardware store. A busy parking lot when we arrived at the lunch hour looked promising. From there on in it was a disappointing experience. Very long wait for a salad and fish and chips to be served. My wife's salad was a rather wilted offering which came complete with a stray piece of ham slice lurking in its midst. My fish and chips was overcooked - the batter shattered and the fish was dry. The chips were mealy wedges, barely warm on arrival. With only water to drink and no coffee or dessert ordered the bill was just over $50.00! Perhaps we should have gone with the burgers and beer that...

I have been a number of times to this restaurant. The experiences ranged from very good to really bad, depending on what we ordered. The baby liver is great, the Ceasar Salad is good, the soups of the day range between decent and abysmal. I also tried a couple of times the Wild Salmon which was always very light coulored (just like farmed salmon would be).Having said that there are some very good aspects about Travellers Choice Restaurant: The staff is courteous and quick (the kitchen not so much,) they have always something to keep the kids entertained, AND they serve Creemore Draft beer in pitchers (yummy.) Depending on your expectations it can be a good (albeit expensive) choice .. or not...

We noticed a lot of locals eating there, it is in the old section of town and were not disappointed. The two patty burger was even too much for me, 16oz of beef with two back bacon patties and bacon delicious. Glad I chose the salad as a side with my meal. Everyone else enjoyed their meal as well.

Went to this place in june of this year,a friend told us to try it,because it had great fish dinners,we did and my Pickeral dinner was amazingly good,i enjoyed the atmosphere and the drinks were good.A good place to eat a Canadian fish Dinner Réservez une table maintenant

This will be a place not visited again by myself or husband. The prices are outrageous for what they serve, the food is not what many locals call amazing, nor is the service. The fish and chips are fir sure not what locals say are excellent.

We were there on Saturday night last and had a very good pork chop as well as my Wife loved their burgers. friendly staff and good food.
