I highly recommend making a reservation before visiting this restaurant. When we arrived, it was empty and we were the only customers inside, while some people were seated outside. However, it is always better to be safe than sorry, as the restaurant can get busy. I had previously tried Tree House for takeout, but this time my husband and I dined in. The atmosphere was very relaxed. We ordered the dumplings, which were good, and both opted for the jambalaya priced at $20. Let me tell you, the jambalaya was absolutely amazing! I stopped in Sunday morning and was greeted by one of the most sincere, caring, and positive energy people I have ever met, Jackson. He broke the unfortunate news that on Sunday morning, they only serve brunch, not their full menu, but that was ok, because it gave me a reason to come back later! I did just that, and was overly impressed by how tasty, filling, and flavorful the food was as well as the welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. I recently dined at a charming little restaurant that had a great ambiance and beautiful decor. The highlight of the experience was definitely the food, with unique scratch-made dishes that were both delicious and interesting. The restaurant even has a small garden on the premises, providing fresh herbs for their dishes. While the prices were on the higher side, the quality and creativity of the dishes made it worth it. I particularly enjoyed the Fried Beets, Ravioli, and Truffles, which were all flavorful and well-prepared. Although the restaurant was a bit dimly lit in the evening, I managed to snap a few photos. I am looking forward to returning to try more of their menu in the future.
My partner and I stopped in St. Louis on our cross country roadtrip in search of a great vegan restaurant. Treehouse has been our favorite stop so far. Our server, Jackson, was so kind and welcoming and provided the best customer service with amazing enthusiasm. It’s not often that you’re served by someone so genuine who really enjoys their job Jackson deserves a raise!! To start, we ordered a couple of cocktails which did not disappoint. Next, we had VEGAN CRAB RANGOONS and HUSHPUPPIES!! It’s amazing they offer such a variety and it’s all vegan. They also played incredible music while we ate. We ordered the smoked maitake polenta plate, fried chkn sandwich, and krab rangoon. I was really looking forward to this experience based on other reviews I read, but it was good, not great. I loved the krab rangoons and could eat the whole order to myself! The fried chickn was on the drier side and had me longing for more flavor complexity. However, the bun was delicious and I liked the crunch of the seitan. The $24 smoked maitake was a ‘nice’ dish, but I could not taste any smoke. I did love the polenta so much that I licked the plate clean. Altogether, we enjoyed a nice meal and would revisit the specials!
I have never before written a negative restaurant review, but felt I had to in this case. Unfortunately we tried the Tree House on a Sunday evening, when as I know from many many experiences of working in kitchens and waitressing, some restaurants use up old food. My meal was inedible. When I told the waitress I could not eat it she said That 's fascinating! You seem to have eaten most of it (my husband had had a mouthful to give me a second opinion). Warning : don 't go on a Sunday evening and the wait staff are extremely rude.
I visited Tree House Restaurant for brunch and found the experience to be quite average. I ordered their sausage, brussels sprouts and sweet potato hash. The service was just okay, and the food was decent but unremarkable. Given the high prices, I expected more in terms of quality and creativity. Overall, it's not bad but definitely not the best vegetarian restaurant in the city. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.
It’s a very charming place in Saint Louis for vegans! I went to celebrate my birthday with my best friend and the food and service were totally amazing. It’s a very cozy place, very tasty food and very friendly and attentive waitresses. Side note: we ordered the cinnamon pudding as dessert which was not to our liking, not recommended for our part. Last night in Tower Grove South, we chose Tree House Restaurant for dinner, and it was a fantastic decision! We highly recommend the smoked maitake mushrooms, fried beets, and sweet corn hushpuppies. The atmosphere was great, the staff was friendly, and it offered good value. Thanks for a wonderful meal!
