we went on a Sunday night. when we were 7 people, we have a table in the back part of the restaurant without any intention. the view from restaurant over the lake of constance is stunning and they should try to get a table. after we had set ourselves, we got a nice homemade bread with olive oil and some dried meat. as appetizers we had some salads, pasta with cannon ragout and a smoked trout with a wasabi sauce. as the main course was our table for the home speciality: huh with French fries and homemade sauce, which is served in a barrel. we also enjoyed a great osso bucco with polenta and a wonderful sauce. as dessert we had the hot chocolate cake with wonderful passion fruit sorbet. at lea...
we have dimmed here a few times last year and enjoyed the experience very much. the lookout is spectacular, eating well. this experience, however, was so negatiw that we doubt that we will come back. we were hardly welcome and had to wait until 90min until the main course was served. no apologies, nothing. During the evening we didn't see a smile, the waiter was terrible cold and we felt we were totally in the wrong place. if we left, no one would even consider that goodbye. Pity!
we had lunch last Saturday on the way to Austria. had never found the place without tripadvisor: we were just in time before the kitchen was closed. we went without a reservation, but next time would be one. in summer there is a beautiful terrace with views of the lake. eating was good, but since the restaurant was almost full, the service was a bit slow (we were not in a hurry, so ok for us.)
It is worth to find the hidden place with a wonderful view over the lake of constance. We were wellcomed with Glühwein and an open fire. The diner was serviced in the house. The dining room has a greatt ambiance, not too many decors, just...right. We enjoyed a 3 cours menue. The people are professionals with charming hospitality.
