Located next to a funeral home, your hunger will be buried at Trigo! Set up with the classic Cuban cafeteria counter as well as a couple of sit down tables, it 's reminiscent of the old school Hialeah restaurants. Start off like I did with their thin-cut, just crispy sweet potato fries they have regular ones as well as yucca). The fries aren 't overly greasy and have the sweet taste of the potato. Next up was their '49 St. Burger '. The cafeteria is family owned, and all the employees were attentive checking on me and the other patrons. There are about 3 varieties of croquetas. I wanted to check out their manchego cheese ones, but was told that they had run out : The ham ones were pretty good though. For my main, I enjoyed their chicken breast filet with plenty of onions red peppers. My side toston green plantain) was perfectly crispy and not salty, and of course I enjoyed their sweet potato flies. In honor of the City of Hialeah 's official dessert, I enjoyed their flan. Deliciously dense flavorful, it was certainly worthy of the mayoral honor!
