Absolutely TERRIBLE experience today. Upon entering the restaurant, the table and seat was absolutely filthy. I ordered strawberry French toast and I was given plain French toast. It took the waiter a very long time to correct this. Once I told her I wanted strawberry French toast and that my potatoes were burnt, she took my plate away and came back with another plate topped with hot slimy cherries. I told her I do not like cherries and I want strawberry French toast for the 3rd time. She said they were out of strawberries and they only have cherry flavor in stock for Valentine's Day. Trip's Diner is an outstanding breakfast destination! Although parking can be challenging and there’s often a wait, it clearly shows how popular this spot is. The food arrives quickly, and the drinks are served in generous portions. The pancakes on the menu are impressively large! Prices are very reasonable as well. They offer mimosas, but interestingly, no Bloody Marys. About half the staff are warm and friendly, while the rest seem more focused on efficiency and less on personal interaction. Overall, Trip's Diner is a fantastic place to enjoy a delicious meal.
WOW!!! So I made reservations at First Watch, but hubby changed it up and said ?let?s try out a local place?, so he found Trips Diner. Beyond impressed with the food, menu variety, staff, Ms. Jenny was wonderful etc. Could not have been a better choice.Chicken Biscuits/Home-fries, Eggs Benedict Traditional, Sausage Biscuits/Gravy, Bacon, French Toast and the BEST in my opinionwere the CHEESE GRITS!!! Never had them before and now the bar has been set high. Will definitely be one of our families top 5restaurants here in St. Pete.
Nice, clean, bright spot on a very busy street close to downtown St Petersburg. The service was above average, the food was good and the prices were competitive. The place is well kept and you can appreciate the neighborhood support. Comfortable parking behind and around. I had the two egg platter with sausage. Everything was delicious but the home fries were a bit crunchy for my taste. Good coffee, busy place... I think my server was fairly new but did the job with a smile. I'd definitely come back!

Went for brunch on a Monday. We got seated right away. The waitress was great. Service was prompt, and friendly. I got the shrimp and grits with a side of French toast. My friend got the chicken and waffles. The shrimp and grits were good. I think Iwould?ve enjoyed the dish even more if the cheese was melted into the grits. Nevertheless, it had good flavors. The French toastwere also very good. Chicken and waffles: the chicken was okay, but the waffle was fluffy and delicious.
I was seated promptly on a weekday morning for breakfast, despite the restaurant being fairly busy. The food was okay but nothing exceptional—I'd say it's a bit overrated. The fully loaded potatoes were somewhat dry and bland, and the waffle was just mediocre. On the bright side, the service was good. The diner offers outdoor seating as well. Parking is limited and can be difficult to find, though there is street parking available in a nearby neighborhood.
I 'm staying at The Empress Motel a few blocks away and walked here in minutes.... went in and was immediately told to sit anywhere I like. I always get excited at a diner style restaurant that smells like my grandmother 's cooking. The service wasfast from order to table and the servers here are really sweet. Marcie was amazing and made me feel at home. Love you guys Thankyou for all you do!???????????
Great Breakfast spot. Parking is pretty annoying and there?s always a wait, but that just shows it?s worth going. Quick breakfast with great potions. The Pancakes are HUGE! Not expensive, decent prices. They have mimosas but no Bloody Mary?s. Iwould say about half the staff is friendly, the other half just doesn?t seems to care or show much personality.

Quick seating on a weekday for breakfast but this place was packed! Food was good but nothing special. Overrated! Fully loaded potatoes wete kind of dry and flavorless. Waffle was okay. Service was good. This restaurant offers outdoor seating. Parking isscarce and difficult to find. Street parking in a neighborhood nearby is an option, too.
