We were there on a Thursday night in early July. The place was packed so get a reservation if you're going in high season. We saw people being turned away. It appears to attract a lot of people connected with the university. An eclectic bunch.Wolfville has limited dining options if you want a full-service restaurant. We were (sadly) nearing the end of our Nova Scotia vacation, and decided to take a break from the straight Nova Scotia fare that we had had for every previous dinner but one.We shared a starter of calamari. C'est la première fois que nous y allions pour souper. Nous y étions allé 2 fois pour dîner auparavant. C'était le samedi, 29 juillet. Pour nous, tout était parfait de l'entrée au dessert, incluant le vin et l'ambiance! Nous avons été servi par Sonya, employé # 25, charmante, souriante et efficace. Had a Sunday dinner at Troy - my third time - always happy with food and service. They were very accommodating to our special requests and had great platters to satisfy one vegetarian. There are a number of lamb choices, as well as standard middle eastern flare. A lot of the food is cooked on a large flaming grill. This is an "upscale" restaurant - as many middle - eastern places are very casual/no liquor- I think this place is Turkish actually - pretty much fine dining - although our seats on the patio felt casual, and we had fun. This place has Novas Scotia's famous Nova 7 Sparkling wine on tap! Give it a try.
We went for a weeknight dinner. The restaurant was uncrowded, we had nice drinks (Pimms & ginger -- what a treat!) and attentive waitstaff and good food. We shared the appetizer platter, which proved to be as much as we could eat, so we took the kebabs home for dinner the next night. The jazz duo not only played well, they also kept it at a level so that we could comfortably talk. A very nice place to eat dinner -- maybe the best in Wolfville now that Tempest & Actons have closed. Oh, & I must mention the mango gelato -- yum!
This restaurant was not our first choice on this busy holiday weekend but we enjoyed it. The service was a tad bit slow but I prefer that over being rushed. I wasn't impressed with the lamb ribs but my husband loved the lamb chops. The sides were delicious and I enjoyed watching the meal preparation in the open kitchen. I was especially impressed when a different server came over to check on us since we were so intensely watching the kitchen and she wanted to make sure we didn't need anything.
Wow! We were looking for a spot for a special meal and we definitely found it. A beauty of a patio tucked away from the main drag made for a great evening! Our food (we ordered the lamb kebabs and the roasted lamb) was done perfectly and beautifully presented. Service was delightful! Recommend on the local wine pairing was perfect!
