We were looking for a place on the Gold Coast that offered a lunch special for our weekly outing with our mom. We discovered this place back in March, but unfortunately it closed soon after due to lockdown. It has since reopened and for the past month, it has become our go-to spot for our Wednesday lunch. This restaurant is run by a single owner and chef who manages everything from serving fish and chips (which are excellent) to a variety of burgers and delicious Chinese dishes. The standout dish we have tried so far is the Black Pepper chicken with steamed rice, which is a steal at the $8.90 lunch special price. We have also enjoyed dishes such as satay, sweet and sour, curry, and black bean. The owner is friendly and efficiently serves the dishes to the table in no time. The restaurant has a few tables inside and a few more outside. While the ambiance may not be fancy, with its location near a petrol station, there is a nearby coffee shop that offers takeaway coffees for $2 or $3. Additionally, there is a coffee shop cafe next door for those looking for a more upscale coffee experience. Public toilets are conveniently located nearby. We highly recommend Tucker on Ferry for its affordable prices, friendly service, quality food, generous portion sizes, quick service, and diverse menu. You would have to be quite picky to not find something enjoyable on the menu. Allow yourself to be pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem.
