Last Fri. Sept. 2/16, due to an emergency, first time in Oshawa, wife and I searched for a restaurant that serves gluten free meal for lunch. Holiday Inn Express, among other brochures, had an ad for Tutto, so we walked down the Simcoe Street. We had difficulty spotting the restaurant as there are no visible protruding signs except for a small white sidewalk sign that was difficult to read from, say, King St. and Simcoe corner. Even standing in front of the Cafe, we almost did not enter as the plain appearance of the place gave an impression that nothing is going on inside. Once we entered, we were pleasantly surprised by the clean, airy open concept, charming atmosphere and a very friendly...
Tutto is a great place for lunch, coffee and desserts. The daily hot buffet offers variety, selection and great value with large portions. The salads and sandwiches are excellent. The desserts are fantastic (key lime tart is one of my favourites). The coffee is also really good. This is one of may favourite places to eat and have coffee. Tutto also offers take out salads, sandwiches and prepared lasagna, and other pastas (fresh and frozen) to take and cook at home. The ambience is great with current decor. It is clean and service is friendly.
The coffee at Tutto is so good we return time and time again. I can not say enough about their salad bar though. You can get three different sizes and select from the many fresh made delicious combinations such as greek salad, chick pea salad, beet salad, ceasar salad etc. They are all fresh made with delicious ingredients. They also have hot lunch selections and pre made salads but I am so taken by the salad bar!!! MMMMMMM
One of our favourite casual lunch spots serving gourmet food. Their lasagne is always a favourite and again it didn't disappoint. My husband loved it. I enjoyed the lamb shank. Tender and served with 2 sides. I chose the fresh veggies which were perfectly cooked. I didn't choose a second side as all the offerings that were of interest to me had garlic which at lunch, when returning to work, isn't always a good idea :(
This restaurant is right next door to Fazio's Restaurant and is a part of it. They share the same kitchen and same great food.Sandwiches are really great soups made daily are also great and definitely home made!There are also entree type dishes available and I have only tried a few but they were very very good.Prices are at the top of the range for lunch but they are worth it as the quality and taste are great.
