tried umai sushi on a recommendation of a foodie friend blogger plus I had this place on my list of necessity to try. looking for a place comparable to ai sushi in price, taste quality but better, as we have the feeling that ki is missing in quality in recent years. we have the sorted sushi-sashimi rolls plated medium size 60 pieces for $58 plus tax. the fish was freshly buttery. the squid sashimi had a little nautical rolled in it, which was a pleasant surprise. It was my first time here today, I am very impressed with the quality. It was a bit of a wait but to be honest it just shows that they put extra care in each of their dishes. Their volcano roll is really good and the Wasabi actually had taste and the texture wasn 't runny. The fish they used seemed fresh (it didn 't have any weird odors or that extra fishy taste). Also, I noticed they had some spicey aspect to the volcano roll. It made it so much better! All the other sushi places I 've been to have rolls that are spicey when in fact they are not. This place is a true gem and when I am back in the area I will come again.
Came here the other day to pick up an assorted sushi, sashimi, and rolls platter. I love the variety of fish! They gave a lot of scallop which is one of my favourites. The fish was fresh and tasty. I thought that it was very well made, plus the presentation is so nice! It's very pretty. It's located on the second floor of Langham Square, at the back left corner. I believe they offer 10% off with cash payment! Overall, it's a decent spot in Markham with reasonable prices. I would come back again!
Very Disappointed. 1) Wrong Goods I ordered P07 small sashimi tray: from the restaurant website it indicates to include salmon, scallop, tuna, octopus, hamachi yellow tail), clams; however I ended up having white tuna, mackerel, tilapia, salmon, pink tuna, clams instead... which were less costly fishes : 2) Doesn't worth to try. Being offered thinly sliced sashimi, I believe there are many better options in Markham for same price range such as Ai, Project, Miki etc. Definitely not coming back. Réservez une table maintenant
My family has visited this restaurant several times, and it has consistently been excellent. While their selection of fish isn't extensive, the quality and presentation are always top-notch. I also love their rolls; they are on the smaller side, which makes them perfect for a quick bite. The owners and staff are very friendly and speak Cantonese, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.
This was my first time trying this restaurant for their sushi. I ordered a medium sashimi and a medium sushi roll to celebrate Mother’s Day with my parents. Everything was fresh and tasted great. We all really enjoyed the dinner. I’ll definitely order from here again. The lady who took my order was very friendly, especially since we are from Hong Kong.
