We adore Umbertos! The food is so good! We have ordered from them for years. And it has consistently been wonderful! Real Italian food, home made right here in Pinellas county. We order it on Uber eats and they have always gotten our order perfect. Right down to the bread, they never forget anything! And you're going to feel like you've stepped right back into your Nona's kitchen because the food is so good! We spent a lovely day exploring Pinellas County and, after visiting the beautiful Honeymoon Island State Park, we decided to grab a pizza. Since we're from Hillsborough County, we were unfamiliar with the pizza options in the Dunedin area, so we turned to TripAdvisor for recommendations. My wife often chooses restaurants based on food photos shared by other customers, and she was drawn to Umberto’s of Long Island — and we were not disappointed! Our party of four had appetizers of meatballs and escarole (using crusty bread to dip); both were excellent. At Italian restaurants, I almost always elect linguine with meatballs and sausage (hand me that tablespoon for twirling, please) with a Chianti, and did here. The linguine was al dente (thumbs up) and the meatless sauce had a nice touch of sweetness. PLEASE DO NOT GO there unless you want great fresh pasta, outstanding Italian sauce. Had stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer… First rate. Seafood pasta for my wife she loved it plenty leftover to take home. I had stuffed ravioli with a side of sausage heavenly. this is a small independent local establishment. I've never eaten inside the restaurant. But I drove around all of Pinellas county for 15 years for work, and tried every place that said it was like New York Pizza I'm originally from just outside of New York City and none of them was like New York Pizza except Umberto's period for anyone reading this wanting New York style pizza this is your place don't waste your time going anywhere else
The food was disappointing, and it was clear there was little effort put into the carryout order. The chicken in the Alfredo was undercooked, the pizza had an overwhelming amount of garlic—around 24 cloves—and the soup smelled stale and tasted even worse. I paid $70 for a medium pizza and two Alfredo dishes, which I found to be way overpriced. I won't be returning.
