Uncommon Grounds is the best breakfast/lunch restaurant I’ve been to in Boston. I’ve been coming in for years and Ive always had such great experiences with the staff. The prices are extremely fair for such large portions. Some of my favorites for breakfast include the homemade corned beef hash, the Caprese breakfast sandwich, the biscuit egg sandwich, the breakfast veggie burrito, and the eggs Benedict. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth for breakfast, but I’ve tried the cinnamon bun french toast and the lemon ricotta pancakes and they are truly mouth watering. I've eaten here in the past, usually breakfast food like French toast or an omelet, and the food has been good. Today I ordered the chicken/mozz/basil panini and it was bad for the following reasons:1. Presentation was BAD, it was poorly wrapped in tin foil and was immediately soggy upon opening (I'm a 2 second walk from the restaurant so it wasn't sitting in a bag for long)2. Chicken was rubbery and there wasn't enough of it for the bread, I left about half the bread uneaten because it was in excess3. After eating it I suffered an hour long stomach ache with a diarrhea finaléI probably won't be going back.
I used to order from this restaurant at least once a month, but the quality has seriously declined. The last two times I ordered the mozzarella basil chicken panini, the bread was very soggy and the chicken was rubbery, making it inedible. This time, I ordered the mandarin chicken salad and it did not come with the honey ginger dressing that is supposed to come with it. Who wants a dry salad? They also changed their fries and they are no longer hand-cut and crispy. I am very disappointed. The staff and breakfast are great, but I will not be ordering from here again.
This restaurant is always busy and the parking lot is too small. The prices are higher compared to other places with similar quality food. It's not worth the long wait. There were mistakes in our order, even after confirming it multiple times. The front payment system doesn't work when items are missing from the order. It's not very organized. The outdoor dining chairs are uncomfortable. It seems like the person who chose them didn't try sitting in them while eating. They recline, but are not suitable for dining at a table. What an extraordinary find for breakfast! Lots of character to this roadside oasis on the busiest street in Watertown. Warm welcome from the owner Peter and his staff. Clean as a whistle this place is! Coffee is best around with the most delicious French toast and home fries that make you want more than the old belly can handle!
Pretty good. Was a bit busy on a Saturday but, to be expected. My Benedict could have used a bit more flavor. Salt, pepper, something. Home fries were on the drier over fried side of things. French toast was good. As was my latte. Worth a try if you're in the area. To judge for self.
Good food, nice place, but they did not clean the tables, customers were cleaning themselves. Apparently too crowded for the staff. I asked to clean my table and they did. It is worth visiting them, because probably today was one of those days. Réservez une table maintenant
