we were told that while we are in cleveland, we try Ungers’ donuts fresh. So we stopped here on the way to get some goodies for the long trip. the majority of the load looked like a standard small food, it was a little scattered, but we were just shopping in the bakery and the whole eating looked so good. I would give the whole business bakery two stars because, apart from being a bit of an eyeore, we had to wait about 10 minutes until a cash arrive (the woman behind the bakery counter served us immediately and was very sweet). the donuts raised the rating to 3 stars. they are good. what they see on the photo are the rectangular donuts and apple frittes. probably the best dinge in cleveland....
I`ve been here many times and stopped going because of health issues mainly. No one wears gloves while handling the baked goods. Ever see the towel they use to wipe down the counter tops with? Disgusting and never no detergent water around. Towel just sits ontop of counter. They treat their employees terribly. The female owner yells, and I mean yells at her help like a slave master. She is a mean one. The reason the baked goods are cheaper at the other stores is because they are day old,, Ever seen the flys inside the glass enclosed bakery cabinet? Yea, that`s a real treat.
This is the best yeast cake I've ever had! During my visit, my grandma transported me back to the sixties. The women behind the counter spoke to my grandma in German, Yiddish, Hungarian—whatever language felt right at the moment. My grandma, may she be blessed, lives on in my heart, but there are still wonderful people around who offer cookies to children. The nut-topped yeast cakes and poppy seed-filled rolls are the best I've ever tasted. I dream about them and always make a point to stop by whenever I visit family in Cleveland. Don't miss this place!
since i was a little girl i remember mrs rosenberg and all the staff handing out the free cookies for us : its always a pleasure to walk into. everyone friendly and menshlicht and such a warm environment. when ever i am in lakewood i always miss the ungers warmth!! looking forward to many years of hatzlacha aheadp.s GET THE MIAMI DONUT

The bakery goods are nice, the old lady behind the counter has been a staple there for the last 80 years if you catch her on a good day she's quite pleasant. The prices are okay. Just be careful when you touch anything cuz it's all sticky or greasy. The apple fritters are absolutely outstanding. Worth the trip just for them!
I visited this restaurant and ordered a slice of chocolate cake. The owner was friendly, but honestly, I didn't find the cake to be very good. It was quite dry, as if it had been sitting out for a few days. I couldn't finish it. I don't think I'll return unless I need a specific ingredient that requires me to come here.
Was there yesterday 10 25 2021 Very disappointed the carrot cake was old I wanted lemon cake and they gave me Orange cake was old I wanted nice rye bread Did not taste any rye in it at all very disappointed i won't be going back there any time soon save your money and go elsewhere not very clean store
Unfortunately, I’m just a short walk from UNR's. I’ll return in a moment when I've lost my appetite. The bakery is wonderful, and the service is excellent.
