I spent about $19 for Grilled Cage Free Chicken at Urban Plates. The food was quickly prepared and was not as fresh or tasty as other restaurants. It was the worst food I had last year. My first thought, after the cashier had given me my bag, was why it was as easy as I paid for it? At home when I opened the bag, it had a questionable amount of chicken, dreadfully boiled Brussels sprouts, and a slice of garlic bread crushed with a small stain of garlic on one side. We ordered the Grilled Cage Free Chicken Family Meal with Mac and cheese and beets and carrots. The food was well-packaged and neatly stapled. The foil containers may be a bit flimsy, so handle with care. The dishes were consistently fresh and healthy. I particularly enjoyed the Organic Green Tea and wish I could purchase the mix or tea bags. The Cowgirl Cookie (Butter-Free) and Hummingbird Cake Slice were delicious. I wish there was a location closer to me. Additionally, I would like to know if there is an option to request napkins.
abundant menu items with a healthy flair. the meals were tasteful. they order and pay at the theke, then they find a table and they are eating out. they can observe how they prepare for submissions behind the counter. tables and bathrooms could have benefited from better cleaning, but we went to a busy time. we will return. comfortable location and appetizing food.
The driver arrived on time and communicated well, ensuring that the food stayed dry during the rainy weather. The food was exactly what we were craving. The order was simple, but the menu was not. Many options with badges that specify which diet fonts they correspond to. It took a long time to get through the line, although the line wasn't so long. The food was great and the dining area was nice. It was clean and well maintained.
Mixed Beet Salad was amazing! Many people get a perfect salad first try out of luck and think its a normal thing. It is very rare to find a place with such affordability for the perfection of the ratios in a salad, along with the quality of ingredients within. Well done kitchen!
I ordered the Grilled Grass Fed Steak Sandwich which came with chips and I added a side salad. Bread was soft, steak was cooked perfectly, and chips were crunchy and perfectly salted. Good meat to bread ratio. Not sorry to say this was my second meal from Urban today, so good!
I can't recommend this place enough. The steak was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes were divine, and the sesame broccoli was bursting with flavor. I stumbled on urban plates during a business trip to la jolla. I have seen more expensive places with reservation requirements. I was able to come after up in the last minute and I was very happy to find the casual restaurant with great food and no reservation required.
