it was nice to finally visit vedder sushi again, although in form of taking over due to the persistent covid pandemic, after a subdivision of almost exactly 5 years. between 2013 and 2015, I have regularly protected this establishment with the family and reminded that it is pretty. chic, so I was quite worried to see what had changed in the meanwhile half decade. My friend and I went there for lunch takeout. I ordered a "Chicken Set A" while she had some deep fried roll I couldn't identify.I was pleasantly surprised to find out I got miso soup and several "extras" included in this box special. It all tasted really nice and at $13.95 was pretty good value.My friend was quoted a price that was higher than what was advertised on their website. we decided to try some sushi options in chilliwack for lunch. vedder sushi came up immediately as my partner told me good things about this restaurant. Unfortunately we couldn't immerse them because they only work for the use in the pandemic. Within 1 minute of being seated, I was drinking tea and enjoying miso soup. My sashimi/teriyaki bento was ready before I could finish the soup. I love the teriyaki here because it is served on crispy sauted cabbage and beansprouts - so light and crunchy. Tempura light and sizzling hot. As always - filling, but not heavy. Very poor service. We were seated at 8:10pm, they close at 9:00 pm. The server told us to ‘hurry up’ in ordering as the kitchen is closing, she literally gave us 5 min to order. We felt very pressured to leave at 9:00 pm exact!...So we packed our food and left and ate the food in our campsite. Unpleasant experience! The food was good but soured by the service.
Just received our second Skip the Dishes delivery from Vedder Sushi. The Chicken Teriyaki, soup and rice was delivered Luke warm at best. We are only 5 mins away and it was delivered on time so it wasn’t the drivers fault. This is the second...time this has happened and it will be the last.
