We enjoyed an al fresco lunch at Vent De Soleil and just watching the world go by in the busy square. We only wanted a light meal and our selection of different bruschetta's (they were excellent and a goats cheese salad (it was good but I have had better when dining in the village did the job. The meals were washed down with a few (well three actually ! beers, a glass of white and a soft drink and the bill came to 80 Euros (inc service which was good . I think you will find better restaurants in St Guilhem but few with the square location and sat under the incredible tree.

Vent du Soleil is a restaurant/bar located in the main square of Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert, a tiny town in the South of France. It is small and tiny and we went there to eat a sandwich, a coffe with milk and a glass of wine, but it was not possible to order a sandwich (we waited more than 30minutes), the staff seemed that they did not work. Incredible. So, I drank a glass of wine and we went to another place. It was a pity!

We needed to have a rest after climbing up though the village. We sat inside as it had AC rather than outside as it was 42c! The crepes are made to order. Have the chocolate sauce, it homemade and was yummy. The ice-cream is homemade too and gave us the energy to walk back through the village. All the Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Finished off a super day in saint guilhem with coffees, soft drinks and crepes in vent de soleil. Prices and service all good and the kids loved the crepes. Lovely setting in the square and one of the nicest plus beaux villages that we have visited. Super shopping and reasonable prices from what we could see.
