We reserved days before we left Saint Luc at the restaurant off the hotel Bella Tola. To enjoy our last evening in and outstanding restaurant and we where looking foreworth all week to eat here. When we arrived at the restaurand they coundn't find...our reservation and just said that they coudnt help us and kicked us out. All other places where fully booked. We went back to the appartement and just ate what we could find since it was our last night and all shops where closed. We are outraged about there lack of profissionalisme and they where just very rude. We reserved and they confirmed that we had a table for persons and a baby. We ate here twice as members of a small group staying at the hotel. The food was beautifully prepared, fresh and made with local ingredients. We chose from a set menu and still found the food choices to be quite good. Two of the unusual...appetizers we encountered were juice and vegetarian bagel. The juice was local and fresh and the bagel was just that, but with local cheese and roasted vegetables, really quite a nice appetizer. The main courses were excellent, and the desserts really delicious. If you are lucky you will be seated in the outer room with views to the mountains. It's a lovely setting.
in september we served a lunch in the restaurant chez ida, which is part of the grand bella tola hotels. we took them back and it was beautiful. this coupled with an excellent service and an incredible atmosphere that they return to the early 1900s. highly recommended for a romantic stay! the only part is the difficult mountain road to get there. it brings it at least 30' of Sierre and the road is extremely narrow. it is part of this unique experience.
This is an old favourite (in the Bella Tola Hotel), but it seems to have acquired a new chef since my last visit. The result was that we had a really wonderful meal imaginative, well balanced and superbly cooked. I can particularly recommend the...creme brulee with foie gras.
