Veranda Chez Ida

We reserved 2 days before we left Saint Luc at the restaurant off the hotel Bella Tola. To enjoy our last evening in and outstanding restaurant and we where looking foreworth all week to eat here. When we arrived at the restaurand they coundn't find our reservation and just said that they coudnt help us and kicked us out. All other places where fully booked. We went back to the appartement and just ate what we could find since it was our last night and all shops where closed. We are outraged about there lack of profissionalisme and they where just very rude. We reserved and they confirmed that we had a table for 5 persons and a baby. I do not understand how an top restaurant can just lose a reservation and being very rude about it. Like we where lying or something. Very disapointing and we tell everyone we know that there are much better alternatives here in Saint Luc. With same food but much better service and courtesy.

Even if you are staying at the Hotel Bella Tola you Are strongly advised to book a table for dinner (if you would like to eat there) in the restaurant because the place is very popular, especially at weekends. You have the choice of the a la carte and the set dinner menu, the set menu giving you three options, one vegetarian, for each course. The wine list is a bit complicated, it includes a huge write up for every single wine, which is brilliant if you want to read up on the wines, but a bit of a phaff when you would like to make a choice after having sat down for your meal. This is where The owners come into a league of their own, her recommendations were fantastic! He is also a very accomplished sommelier, but she certainly had the edge on him when we were enjoying two wonderful evenings at the lovely Veranda. We would also like to make a point about the incredibly professional, attentive and friendly staff!

We enjoyed a lunch in September at the Chez Ida restaurant which is part of the Grand Bella Tola hotel. We took the Rehrücken and it was gorgeous. This coupled with an excellent service and an incredibly atmosphere taking you back to the early 1900 's. Highly recommended for a romantic stay! The only downside is the difficult mountain road to get there. It will take you at least 30 ' from Sierre and the road is extremely narrow. It 's part of this unique experience.

This is an old favourite (in the Bella Tola Hotel), but it seems to have acquired a new chef since my last visit. The result was that we had a really wonderful meal imaginative, well balanced and superbly cooked. I can particularly recommend the creme brulee with foie gras.

Have been coming here for many years, never disappointed! Saisonal food in a relaxed atmosphere. I like the soup being served from the big pot!
