I can't say enough about the wonderful experience we had at Verona Restaurant for my dad's Ninetieth birthday party! The food was world class and every single dish was raved upon by our guests. The service was also flawless and all staff were attentive and responsive to our every request. We have held many of these events over the years but since this event the phone has rang off the hook. Every guest praised every aspect of the event which is very significant considering how picky some of them can be. Nothing but praise has been forthcoming with the food being the showstopper. We 've been going to Verona for years now and this place has some of the best consistent Italian food around... Unfortunately the staff ruins the experience. The staff is also consistent unfriendly and almost rude. Not a smile, hello, welcome, good evening, or thank you...they sit you at your table and then you wait for the same rude waiter (you know who I am talking about if you 've been there) that 's been there for years or any of the other staff actually ask you, what 'll you have? Again, no welcome, hello, etc. I even asked aren 't you going to mention the specials? and his rely was a stern they 're in the menu without making even eye contact. Here 's the deal: This BYOB is at the end of a small strip of stores. It has both indoor outdoor seating. I was here 7-8 years ago and I left feeling the same way as I did then. It 's definitely a good spot for a group, but the ambiance doesn 't scream romantic date night place. They serve all the standard dishes! The chili calamari was chewy $17.00. The regular calamari is $13.00 .. not sure the addition of hot vinegar peppers made it special? The special Parma crusted chicken w/ lemon was just ok . But for $30.00 I hoped for more. The Veal Sorantino $28.00 was good (a staple item well done! For dessert the Bread Pudding was very good! So overall the I guess this place does consist business...
This is my mom's favorite, and for what's available nearby, I get it! The restaurant developed a beautiful outdoor dining space over the last few years, which is pretty pleasant and romantic. It is BYOB but there is a liquor store just a minute uo the road. During my first visit I wasn't hooked, but since my parents like it so much we went again and this experience was completely different! My mom swears by the bolognese, and I absolutely loved the eggplant rollatini appetizer (which was big enough to be an entree! The mussels appetizer was also good. I'm sure we will be back soon!
It was very good. Also very expensive. I think my husband and I were the youngest there by 20 years. BYOB. I was very tight quarters but it was also Valentine's Day. The food was amazing as well as the desert. The waiter was ok but the second guy always made sure our water was filled and our table was cleared. Would only go again for VERY special occasions.
