I am fortunate enough to live within walking distance of the Grand Hotel. We have held a family wedding there, frequent Copperfields and tha Lounge regularly and had relatives stay there. We were delighted to recieve a gift voucher for the Brasserie at Christmas. We booked to use it on our anniversary. It was a Friday evening and it was somewhat of a disappointment to find only four other couples in the large dining room. To me the atmosphere was somewhat lacking. We had a wonderful dining experience at The Grand last night after being in lockdown for a while. From the moment we stepped into the lounge, we were in bliss. The comfortable, luxurious seating with a view of the sea was great for the soul. The service was fantastic as we enjoyed our aperitifs and relaxed. Moving to the restaurant, we were greeted warmly by the staff and enjoyed another beautiful sea view. The food was delicious, especially the perfectly cooked scallops. The portion sizes were just right and the wine selection was excellent. It was a truly blissful evening.
This was a birthday present for my husband from his work colleagues which was thoroughly enjoyed by us both.Tea or coffee offered with the food and frequently re-filled, great sandwiches and the offer to exchange any we didn't like, cheese and fruit scones (with jam and cream) and a selection of cakes and desserts. All enjoyed from the best seats in the room, overlooking the stunning beach and sea. Nothing was too much effort, served by staff keen to ensure that all our needs were met with a genuine smile, thank you.
I made a reservation at the Grand Hotel for Christmas Day dinner based on positive reviews and wanting a change of pace. Unfortunately, I regret my decision. The food was terrible and we paid £700 for a party of 7, which was a total waste of money. Many dishes were returned untouched, and I had to cook a meal for my two teenage sons when we got home. Our Christmas Day was ruined, and I do not recommend this restaurant at all. When I complained to the hotel directly, I was dissatisfied with their response.

It has been a long time since we last dined at the Grand. The wide variety of appetizers made it challenging to decide on what to order. The twice baked souffle, smoked haddock risotto, and scallops were all excellent choices. Our main courses, roast cod loin and delicious lamb's liver, were also very satisfying. The entire evening was a success, with good food being served by efficient and friendly staff.
My nephew sent his mother a voucher for three people to have afternoon Tea here she kindly took myself and a friend with her. The place is beautifully done out and the staff very friendly and attentive. The tea was wonderfully presented and they went out of their way to give me a selection of my own as I don 't care for chicken or fish. Marvelous customer service. Can 't rate it highly enough.
A beautiful room with fantastic views looking at Tynemouth longsands beach and beyond We visited for afternoon tea, the service was on point with dedicated, friendly and efficient staff. The food was well presented and absolutely delicious, enough to fill you up without being too much and wasted We will definitely be back again
The food on the evening menu here is very good and varied,, and cooked to perfection, breakfast however is a little overpriced at £14.99 and although the Scottish breakfast (scrambled egg with salmon on a muffin) was excellent the English breakfast wasn’t up to much.,

Although I have already written a review of The Brassiere in the Grand review, it’s worth repeating here. The food is excellent and the service is great. The staff are friendly and helpful. We have eaten here often over a period of more than 10 years.
Called in here tonight and were lucky enough to be offered a window table. Food was fantastic and well priced for the quality. Our waitress was great really friendly and helpful.
