Originally opened as a butcher and grocery store by the patriarch, the deli was transformed into a sub shop by the next generation following his passing. Kit ordered mini perogies, mini potato pancakes, and a hotdog with mustard. Meanwhile, I opted for the #3: Vino's Italian with ham, hard salami, and American cheese. I had initially planned to swap the American for Swiss cheese, but the current matriarch offered us a sample of Cooper cheese that we both enjoyed, so I decided to go with that instead.

Vino’s serves a Reuben that truly outshines all others. Since I first tasted it, no other Reuben has come close. It far surpasses options like KJ’s Pickle Barrel and Pierce St Deli, and even beats another fantastic local Reuben from Goldstein’s Deli. Miller’s Bar in Charlottesville, VA, known for its excellent Reuben allegedly made famous by Dave Matthews, is still no match for Vino’s. Park across the street. Parking is very difficult with no parking signs on side street. The little corner shop is VERY busy with customers coming and going with packages of delicious subs. The small sub is LARGE and full of a generous portion of meats and cheeses. This is a nice break from the Big Box sub shops we normally see while traveling. Easily accessible from Route 81. I stopped here during a road trip and couldn’t be happier with my experience! The sandwiches are absolutely amazing. The staff and other customers were friendly and welcoming to newcomers. I really wish we could return! As for kid-friendliness, they had no issues accommodating custom orders for picky eaters.
