I had high hopes for this place, but sadly, it turned out to be pretty mediocre. I don't have much more to add beyond that. We ordered the six-item tapas selection and a bottle of wine. While the wine was decent, the 300% markup made it feel overpriced. I understand that markups are common in the industry, but I expected the food and atmosphere to justify the cost, which they didn't. The staff seemed disinterested, frequently hovering around, but oddly absent when we actually needed assistance. The meat and cheese tasted like they came from a package, and while they claimed to enhance the ingredients, this simply wasn't true. Virgola is one of the few spots in Patchogue where I can truly enjoy a nice evening out. Having lived in the area for two years, I've found that many places here can be quite loud and crowded with twenty-somethings celebrating. In contrast, Virgola provides a quieter, dimly lit atmosphere that feels relaxed, complemented by good music and live performances. They offer an excellent wine selection, a full bar, and a thoughtfully curated menu of small plates, including charcuterie and shrimp cocktail, among other options. The bar service is quick, attentive, and friendly. I highly recommend giving Virgola a try.
Everything I tried was outstanding. A few highlights for me were the tuna tarts—absolutely wow! The oysters were perfectly plump, juicy, and rich. In the Salumi section, both the Felino and the Coppa were amazing. For cheese, the Robiola and the Raschera were incredible. As for the wines, I’m usually not a big fan of rosé, but the spumante Rosato was excellent. My favorite white was Gavi di Gavi, while I loved the Primitivo and Chianti for red. You have to stop in; you definitely won’t be disappointed!
Absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere was so cozy, the service was excellent, and the food and wine were delicious. We enjoyed wine flights along with olive tapenade bruschetta and margherita flatbread. Everything was incredibly fresh and full of flavor.

I've found my new favorite spot! The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff is exceptional, and the tapas are amazing. I especially love the wine selection! Plus, the big, comfy stools are perfect for me! The sparkling rosé was definitely my favorite!
We visited yesterday, and the selection of cheese was remarkably fresh. The bartenders did a fantastic job of pairing the meats with different wines. I really enjoyed the tuna tarts! We’ll definitely be returning soon.
Excellent! Staff is efficient, friendly and attentive. Oysters are delicious and served elegantly. Owner is very involved in making the experience exceptional.
A wonderful evening of specialty drinks, fine wine, tuna tartare, shrimp, oysters and a delicious cheese board. You should definitely check it out.
