For a self proclaimed foodie who misses the gourmet landscape in DC/Northern VA area, it is refreshing to find Voila restaurant to be the unassuming traditional yet very trendy. You first wonder why reservations only? But make note, bar seating is available and I must tell you grabbing a seat at the bar provides you front seat view to the cog of the well oiled wheel that runs this restaurant. The owner has her quiet way of ensuring the restaurant provided an atmosphere of great service. She answers the phone, explains to the caller the prix fixe offering (probably for upcoming Valentine's Day). She also helps in preparing drinks and ensuring the bar area is clear and clean and kept. You then...

Alrighty let 's get right to it. Deciding where to take my wife to celebrate her birthday is no easy feat. Starting looking around, researching, and boom I landed on Voila, and we were not disappointed. Not one bit, we arrived promptly around 7:25, for our 7:30 reservation, when walking you can tell this is the place to be. Walking in immediately greeted by the hostess, within seconds we are off to our seats. Once seated our waiter comes over and helps us settle in. Both the wife and I settle on the French Onion Soup, for starters it was amazing baked to perfection, chunky with sautéed onions, cooked to perfection. For our main entree the wife choice was the Seafood Gratin De Fruits De Mer I...

Wow, what an incredible meal with outstanding service! I can't believe this is the last month to enjoy it. The escargots were delightful—tender helix snails simmered in white wine, butter, garlic, red peppers, and parsley. The Moules Provencale featured slow-cooked mussels with garlic, Bermuda onions, and tomatoes, all tossed in a light wine cream sauce. The Solomon Exohiko was a highlight, with pan-seared salmon topped with a delicious medley of spinach, feta, and fresh dill, wrapped in crispy filo pastry and baked to perfection. It was served with a creamy avgolemono sauce and fresh asparagus. The Gratin De Fruits de Mer combined shrimp, scallops, and lump crab, all topped with melted chee...

They don 't make 'em like Voila anymore. There 's nowhere as classy, as kind, and as genuinely tasty as Voila in Norfolk. Voila will be sorely sorely missed when it closes permanently on July 15, 2023. (Reservation only until then. It has been a family go-to, a personal favorite, and the best celebratory spot period. From the amuse-bouche to dessert, it 's a fabulous experience. The cocktails are insanely good (they could honestly charge double what they do for these . The freshly made caesar salad is a classic. I 've always loved the shrimp Athenian appetizer (prepared with pasta to make it an entree! . But the star of the show is the scallops and risotto. Each bite is eyes-rolling-to-the-b... We recently dined at Voila, situated just off Brambleton Avenue in the heart of Norfolk. I am consistently impressed with both the food and the service at this charming little restaurant. They specialize in authentic French cuisine, offering many classic dishes. Additionally, they have a prix fixe menu that is both creative and reasonably priced. Given the small size of the restaurant, I recommend making reservations—it's almost a necessity, as I saw them turn away some guests without prior bookings. This isn’t a place for a quick meal; it’s an experience that deserves to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace.
