UPDATE: After a couple of emails per the owner 's request below, I finally recieved a response. It was a diatribe of excuses, mostly blaming the community and internal changes for their lack of trained servers and lack of updated menus. He admitted the gumbo was sub-par, yet offered no solutions. This place might be fun on 'game day ' (still to be seen), but don 't waste your time and money on an establishment who doesn 't care about staff training nor customer satisfaction.The food here is okay, but no hype as the Cajun items are off from what would be a three-hour drive south of this location. Undoubtedly, a better server would have improved our experience. He knew nothing of the beer menu...
This restaurant is a Cajun themed sports bar. There are TVs everywhere. The food is also Cajun themed.In the past this restaurant was much better, especially before the event that required everyone to wear masks. In fact I gave it five stars.In my latest visit the food was served cold and required a send back. Also, the appearance of the restaurant was just bad as almost every empty table had leftovers on them, roughly 6 tables.I will give this restaurant another try later, I hope they get it together because I used to love it.
I’ve been to Walkons many times before but this was probably the worst experience ever. I ordered a double shot of Tito’s and I was brought essentially cranberry juice and ice. I ordered the Cajun press which was the poorest excuse for a sandwich I have ever seen. It was missing ingredients. I didn’t not ask to remove anything. The sandwich was so dry. I just gave up. Never coming back to this one. You guys need to stop watering down your liquor bottles. People are starting to notice.
My favorite dish at this restaurant is definitely the butter chicken, especially when I substitute loaded mashed potatoes as a side. I guarantee you’ll love both the chicken and the mashed potatoes! I order it every single time. They also serve delectable fried catfish, duck gumbo, sandwiches, burgers, and red beans and rice. I usually take my food to go, so I can’t comment on the dining experience, but the service at the order and pickup window is excellent! Réservez une table maintenant
Absolutely go for it! Food is our top priority, right? If you're craving some no-frills étouffée or looking to try it for the first time, this is the spot. They serve a fantastic po' boy with a roll that's both soft and crunchy. And if you're in the mood for an Abita, you won’t be disappointed. This place is fantastic—delicious food, reasonably priced, and a great spot to catch a game. I’ll definitely be returning! Highly recommend.
We really like the food but every time we come in the service is just meh…slow, inattentive, have to ask several times for small things like appetizer plates and napkins. Not today! Shiair was amazing!! We can’t say enough great things about her customer service, and she always delivered it with a smile. She made sure our visit was top notch. I never mind paying for a great experience. Thank you for making our dinner so enjoyable.
The food was decent, and it serves as a good alternative to Buffalo Wild Wings. There are plenty of TVs to catch the game. However, the servers seemed uninterested in engaging with us; they mainly took our orders and simply dropped off the food and check. It’s worth a visit for a game or two, but I wouldn’t choose it as my regular go-to spot.
2nd year I have had all of my employees(20 of us) meet here for 811 week. We were there on 8/10/23. Our server (Dominique W) did a great job for the 2nd year in a row. Food was great as usual and the whole staff was very accommodating. Would recommend this place any time I'm asked for good places to eat in Montgomery. Réservez une table maintenant
I liked the place, lots of TVs to watch games, typical variety of beer drinks. Would like to see more choices for their fruity drinks. Staff was great and I was pleasantly surprised by the great taste of my children sandwich. UnfoDefinitely they were out of the Voodoo shrimp. Definetely would recommend ?.
