Water St. Fish & Chips

This cafe was in a far too convenient location, right below our wonderful Water Suites accommodation. Any of the fish and chips meals we tried were fresh and tasty, and the deep fried scallops were great. However the deep fried mushroom appetizer was probably the best I've tasted! The inside is basic but comfy, and the small patio is nice for dinner on a hot day!

There were some issues. The place was pretty busy with some conference folks when we arrived for lunch so the tables weren't cleared and we're cleared and set for us hastily with some items missing. Service was friendly, albeit not overly attentive and a bit slow. But the food was absolutely delicious. The fish

I had heard many times about clams and chips. I had also heard about how many places do them wrong. Water Street gets them right. For the price the portion was small but delicious. The clams had a nice crispy batter and melted in my mouth. I came twice! (Went back for dinner after lunch) ;)

My wife and I began with the Calamari and Mussels in White Wine and Garlic sauce. The Calamari were not chewy and the home made aioli was perfect! The Mussels were small with a bland sauce, but good.We both ordered the 8oz. Haddock Fish

Good food, very tiny portions of fries, service a little slow. Food was tasty and staff seemed friendly
